Pravin Gadhvi: Poems
• The Voice of a Poet
• Face Hanging on a
  Wall
• Bamiyan Buddha
Bamiyan Buddha
I had left
Leaving gold, gems, pleasures
   of life
Keeping Rahul weeping
And Yashodhara Sleeping.

I had left
Kicking silver glasses of wine
Conti.
I had left
Crossing Vidhyachal’s
Mountains, the breast of
   Courtesans
I had left to free
Myself from two ends of birth
   and death
I wanted to be formless.
Conti.
Now you see
Both are blind by birth
Those who are chiseling
My Statues and
Decorating with
Golden ornaments.
And those who are
Destroying my statues.
