Satya Paul was awarded the winner under the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Fashion Industry’ category at this glittering award ceremony took place at The London Hilton Park Lane on 19th November 2011.
The final episode of Satya Paul’s Think Pink charity fashion show will eventuate at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai on Monday evening. The show has traveled all around India to raise funds for the Woman’s Cancer initiative and will conclude in Mumbai. Jaya Bachchan will play the guest of honor while celebrities like Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea, Zeenat Aman, Queenie Dhody will walk the ramp. Sanjay Dutt will talk on the cause while Aishwarya Rai will bring the show to a grand finale.
No wonder fashion has been considered by many to be entertainment. Or, as Puneet Nanda of Satya. Paul defines it: “It’s drama, it’s theater, it’s art, it’s design.” Everything, that is, other than something related to the clothes you wear daily.
Satya Paul painted quite a dramatic picture of timeless fashion against the backdrop of the Chandragupta Maurya period, with his ‘Retro-Modern Chic’ collection at the LIFW. Backing him up was friend and celebrity Mandira Bedi who walked the ramp wearing one of his exquisite sarees.
“The sari,” said Puneet Nanda in Tokyo, “is a most elegant and amazing garment.”
Literally it is not a garment at all, but a length of in a basic style dating from antiquity. Simple though the sari seems to be, its wrapping and folding incorporate intricacies and subtleties. With bracelets, anklets and necklaces, the sari is undyingly popular with Indian women in all circumstances and for all occasions

Shonali is the first Indian to hold a Miss International title, with the other coveted crowns of Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Asia-Pacific having already been won by Femina Miss Indias including Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and Diya Mirza, among others. Shonali also joins the long list of Femina Miss Indias who are daughters of defence officers and have gone on to win international contests.

Puneet Nanda, the designer imbibed his creativity and design capability from his father, the
famous artist, Satya Paul. Commencing from the year 1982 to the year 2001. Puneet moved
from a gamut of design activities spanning photography, graphic design, textiles to finished
garments and choreography of International Fashion shows for world famous designers.

this glittering award ceremony took place at The London Hilton Park Lane on 19th November

IAFA that was created to honour the creativity of prominent Asian artists as Asian fabrics, styles
and designs are being increasingly embraced on the catwalks and in the high street. It also aims
at drawing attention to the stars of the future, currently developing their skills to exhibit their
