adaptation is.

HAVE YOU EVER
SEEN A STORY
TURNED INTO
A MOVIE,
COMIC, OR
WHAT IS CREATIVE
LITERARY
ADAPTATION?
• Changing the way a story is
presented using multimedia
(text, images, audio, video).
• Example: Turning a parable
into a short video or a digital
comic strip.
PARABLE VS.
FABLE
• Short story that teaches a
moral/religious lesson.
• Characters: real-life
people/situations.
• Example: The Story of the
Pencil by Paulo Coelho.
• Short story that teaches a lesson about
life.
• Characters: animals or objects that
talk/act like humans.
• Example: The Ant and the Grasshopper.
PARABLE
FABLE
MULTIMEDIA IN
ADAPTATIONS
Multimedia = uses both words and pictures
(plus audio/video).
Examples of multimedia:
• Text (captions, subtitles)
• Images (photos, drawings)
• Audio (music, narration)
• Video (animations, clips)
• Benefit: Makes learning and
storytelling more fun, creative, and
engaging.
ICT = Information and Communication Technology.
Skills needed:
• Using MS PowerPoint or video editors.
• Importing images, audio, and video.
• Adding transitions and effects.
• Citing sources to avoid plagiarism.
ICT SKILLS IN
ADAPTATIONS
Process Questions:
1. What multimedia
elements were used
(images, sound, text)?
2. Did they make the story
more engaging?
GENERALIZATION
(WHAT I HAVE LEARNED)
• Creative literary adaptations present stories in
new ways using multimedia.
• Parables teach lessons using real-life people;
fables use animals/objects.
• ICT skills (PowerPoint, video editing, digital
storytelling) help us make adaptations modern
and engaging.
ASSESSMENT
1. What is a creative literary adaptation?
2. Who wrote The Story of the Pencil?
3. Which genre uses animals that act like
humans?
4. Give one multimedia tool you can use
for adaptations.
5. Why is citing sources important in
multimedia projects?
THANK
YOU
VERY
MUCH!
