3. WHY SHOULDWE ENGAGE?
When we engage, we create a space where our families feel connected, safe, loved
and respected.
When we engage our students, we form long lasting bonds that allow our students
to be lifelong learners.
When we engage, students listen and respond to us.
When we engage, we create trust between parents and teachers.
Trust is everything!

5. WHAT DOES ENGAGEMENT LOOK LIKE
ON Tadpoles?
Pictures for each child on a daily basis. Preferably doing something special that is
being done during the day (art, science activity…) Limit group pictures to just a
few. Showing evidence of learning.
Pictures can include: books reading, center activities, arts and crafts, songs and
any skills covered.
Be careful when taking pictures. look at your surrounding.

LIKE?
A teacher who greets every students enthusiastically and
right upon arrival.
A teacher who always near her students and never creating
a distance between them.
A teacher who is on students' level through the day (plays
with them, asks open ended questions and knows her
students).
A teacher who is mindful of her body language and is
consistent.
A teacher who isn’t afraid of playing and having fun.
A teacher who know what her students are interested in
and uses that to drive instruction.

A student who ready to share about their daily activities.
A student who shares or mimics about their teachers.
A student who feel comfortable to show his or her
emotions and grow with you.
A student who knows what to expect through healthy
routine and expectation.
A student who has a clear understanding of classroom
rules and expectations. Knows why they are in trouble or
why he or she can’t get treasure chest.

Share information about children transitioning.
Share fun activities or wow activities.
Help assist when someone is struggling (routine, difficult child, or having a hard time).
Make new teachers feel welcome and give them time and grace to adapt.
Share the tasks within the classroom.You do not have to do everything alone.
Communicate! Nobody can read your mind.

closely while I work at the station.
Yesterday, we had too many bathroom incidents.
Would you please stay close by while I am doing
circle time, I have a hard time keeping all the kids
attention. I can do that in the afternoon.
I have a hard time keeping the students engaged
with centers. I would like for you to stay by
dramatic play area and blocks.
I am noticing a lot of incidents happen in the
afternoon on the playground. Let's spread out
and stay near the slide to better watch our
students.

19. EXPECTATIONS
When you are notified of a new student in your class.What
do you need to do?
1. Create a new cubby space with their name.
2. Make sure you have enough cots.
3. Ask their previous teachers about the child.
4. Ask admin of anything important to know (allergies,
diapering, parent preferences..)
5. After a week in your class, send a positive message to
parents about their child. Example: Johny did a great job
in our class this week. He has quickly adapted to our
routine, started to make new friends and had opened
during our circle time by sharing about his dog.We are
excited to have Johny in Preschool one. Hope you have a
wonderful weekend. See you bright and early Monday!

26. SNOW DAY
Eligible employees are entitled to Holiday Pay
except:
1- If you fail to work the day before a Holiday
2- If you fail to work the day after a Holiday
Exceptions:
1- Planned vacation that were approved by
Management.
2- Other cases are at the discretion of the owner.
If we open on a delay, you work on a delay!
