The Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) will hold its Spring Seminar from April 24-26, 2014 at the Sea Palms Resort on Saint Simons Island, Georgia. The seminar will provide 10.5 hours of continuing legal education credits, including 1 hour each of professionalism and ethics credits. Speakers will present on topics such as DUI defense, child molestation defense, legislative updates, defending white collar clients, political cases, ethics, high profile co-defendants, client relations, and professionalism. Registration fees vary based on membership status and continuing education needs. The GACDL Fall Seminar will be held November 7-8, 2014.

B.J. Bernstein has worked for 25 years as a trial attorney handling
criminal and civil litigation and appeal work. B.J. has been recognized
in Atlanta Magazine in it’s Super Lawyer edition from 2008-2012 as
one of the top 100 Lawyers in Georgia and Top 50 Women Lawyers.
Georgia Trend named her to the Legal Elite list for the last 4 years and
has individually profiled her as one of six of Georgia's “Power Women”
in 2008. She is well known for her defense of Genarlow Wilson, and
for her representation of the plaintiffs in the Bishop Eddie Long case.
Scott Greenfield’s New York practice is limited to the defense of
serious criminal matters and investigations in state and federal courts,
trials and appeals. For more than 30 years, Scott has represented clients
charged with crimes or the targets of investigations in state and federal
courts across the United States. Over that time, many have decided that
it's too hard or too expensive to fight, and have chosen to start out with
the goal of losing as gracefully as possible.Anyone whose goal at the

Ken Hodges spent 15 of his 20+ year career as a prosecutor. He was
the 2010 nominee of the Democratic Party of Georgia forAttorney
General. Ken was chosen as DistrictAttorney of the Year in 2002, in
part, due to his work as co-counsel in the prosecution of former DeKalb
County Sheriff Sidney Dorsey. Ken now applies his trial skills in a
practice focused on commercial litigation, civil rights, government
investigations, RICO matters, and white collar criminal defense. Ken
received the Justice Robert BenhamAward for Community Service for
his dedication to public service from the State Bar of Georgia.
Amy Morton is a licensed marriage and family therapist in private
practice in Macon, Georgia, where she serves children, adults, couples
and families. Since 1986, whenAmy served as the Coordinator for one
of Georgia’s first child advocacy centers, the Rainbow House in Hous-
ton County,Amy has gained extensive training and experience in the fo-
rensic interviewing of children in cases where sexual abuse is suspected.
She has been qualified as an expert in this area in the Superior Courts of
the State of Georgia, the State of North Carolina and in Federal Court.
Mark M. O'Mara has been practicing Criminal and Family Law
in Central Florida for 28 years, and is presently Board Certified as a
Criminal Trial Specialist and a Marital and Family Law Specialist.
He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal criminal
defense. Mark is also involved in many Bar activities, including serving
as President of the Seminole County BarAssociation and serving on
both Circuit and Federal Grievance Committees. He currently serves as
the legal analyst for Central Florida's WKMG Channel 6. He is most
famous for his defense of client George Zimmerman in the Trayvon
Martin shooting case.
Don West is a veteran criminal defense attorney practicing in state
and federal courts. He has been board certified by the Florida Bar since
1987 as a criminal trial specialist. Don has broad experience in handling
white collar crimes, drug offenses, sex offenses and homicide and has
been lead counsel in several high profile death penalty cases in state and
federal courts in Central Florida and Puerto Rico. He has been desig-
nated as Learned Counsel in death penalty cases in the District Court in
the Middle District of Florida, the District of Puerto Rico and in Florida
state courts. He is most well known for his representation of client
George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin shooting case.
