The Chief Minister of Telangana has delegated powers relating to preventive detentions under six acts to the Chief Secretary of Telangana. These acts relate to the prevention of smuggling, black marketing, national security, narcotics trafficking, and dangerous activities by communal offenders, bootleggers, and land grabbers. The delegation of powers is effective immediately and will remain in place until further orders are issued.

Under Rule 22(a) of the Andhra Pradesh Government Business Rules, the Chief Minister of
Telangana, hereby delegate the powers to the Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana to
exercise, henceforth in the State of Telangana, in all matters relating to Preventive Detentions under
the provisions of the following Acts, until further orders:
1. The Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling
Activities Act, 1974 (Central Act No. 52/74);
2. The Prevention of Black-Marketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential
Commodities Act, 1980 (Central Act 7 of 1980);
3. The National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980);
4. The Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Act, 1988 (Central Act 46 of 1988);
5. The Andhra Pradesh Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Communal
Offenders Act, 1984 (A.P. Act No. 30 of 1984);
6. The Andhra Pradesh Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers,
Dacoits, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land
Grabbers Act, 1986 (A.P. Act. No. 1 of 1986);
