23. Graphic terminal layout editor and real-time view
Enables to:
• Fully describe the multilevel layout of the
terminal: establish a tree of terminal
location, group and zone occupancy
• Display and, if necessary, edit the
positioning of terminal objects
• Monitor the actual level of terminal
occupancy in real time in the graphical
layout
• Monitor worker movements in the terminal in
real time
• Find various objects in the terminal layout
• And much more
24. Yard management module
Each container can be viewed
for details and its location within
the terminal. One can easily
drill-down for any specific info
on a particular zone or a single
container
25. Configuring business rules and strategies
Easily set up dynamic rules and
strategies for stacking and other
processes
26. Dynamic stacking
After the container registration is
completed by the tallyman, the system
searches for a proper cell to place the
container based on stacking rules and
strategies.
27. The system finds a stack for the container based on putaway rules.
For example, all Maersk containers are moved for stowage to the
second stack, while all CMA CGM containers go to the third stack.
Dynamic stacking
28. The specific location in a stack is chosen by the system in
accordance with assigned putaway strategies. For example,
unoccupied locations at the lowest tier are taken first.
Dynamic stacking
29. A reduction in the amount of moves occurs due to:
• Standardized storage at the warehouse (rules and putaway
strategies).
•Forecasting of container arrival/departure

37. Types of equipment
* Reloading Equipment Management
The system supports all types of
reloading equipment used at the
terminal.
38. CHE Monitor
All terminal equipment can be
managed by the system
automatically according to the
dynamic stacking rules and
strategies.
You can view the list of assigned
jobs. The system initiates a job
to vehicle operators to place the
container in the specified cell.
39. Real time vessel call operations
E.G the monitor allows to see
how cranes and container
handlers perform at each berth
and how long does it take a CHE
to process a container
40. Advanced CHE management
The system dynamically distributes
CHEs across the terminal fronts
depending on the planed workload and
other factors.
The optimal routing for each CHE is
calculated.
41. The driver scans the
ticket and drives to
the appropriate
location
A task to move a container is issued to the crane operator’s RDT via SOLVO.TOS.
The crane prepares the container for vehicle loading upon container confirmation by the tallyman.
If the crane is busy, the task will be issued right after current vehicle processing is complete.
RTG/RMG management
42. The system automatically issues a job
to vehicle operators to place the
container in the specified cell.
Automated job assignment
43. * RTG Rows Blocking
The system blocks the allocation of
containers in cells and rows in RTG
stack if the row has any containers to
move.
RTG cell blocking
44. According to motor platform
processing rules, SOLVO.CTMS decides
when the motor platform is to be
placed to the processing cell.
Then the system sends a work to
reachstacker operator to discharge the
container from the motor platform and
to put it away to the stocking zone.
The operator confirms the work
completion via RDT and the motor
platform moves to the next handling
cell.
Discharge from a motor platform
45. * Move Optimization
SOLVO minimizes inefficient container
moves and allows to cut down vehicle
run distance and time.
Minimizing rehandles and reshuffles
46. * Loading Containers to Motor Platform (RTG)
Trailers arrive to processing cells.
Processing the trailers is done in order
of decreasing priorities.
20
70
50
RTG
30
60
Processing priorities are calculated
automatically based on various
parameters, including the minimization
of RTG moves.
The system sends an SMS-message to
the trailer driver to move the trailer to
the cell under the stack. Adjacent cells
are blocked automatically.
Solvo issues a job to an RPG operator
to put the container to a motor
platform, and a proactive command to
move the next motor platform to the
stack cell to minimize RTG downtime.
Equipment control
47. * Konecranes C-Pics and Kalmar SmartrailIntegration
SOLVO.TOS integrates with vehicle-
born positioning systems via RS-232.
Integration with on-board RTG/RMG GPS systems
48. Real-time CHE monitoring and control
The graphic layout editing tool also
allows to monitor all CHE moves in real
time and assign new task on the fly.

52. EDI and notification module
Supports all types of EDIFACT messages and
even more – xml, xls and other formats.
The planning department receives vessel call
data through the notification module.
EDIFACT download - a line agent sends a
message via e-mail in the form of a text file,
which the service center technician
downloads using his AWP.
Notification module – system process for
creating report templates and documents,
conversion to specific formats and
distribution using email, files (folders), DB
entries as well as issuing to print for specific
recipients based on assigned events.

54. Vessel calls are registered and the
monthly work schedule is
automatically created in SOLVO.TOS
based on notices sent from line
agents.

55. Vessel profile
Each vessel’s cargo plan can be
created automatically or manually
using a handy graphical tool. One can
create and edit graphic vessel profiles,
bay plans for loading and discharging,
etc.
56. Bay planning and crane scheduling
Bay plans can be created
automatically based on the EDI
manifests sent by the shipping lines,

81. Truck scheduling
Each time slot is determined by
the maximum number of
transport vehicles (by category),
which can be processed during
the time assigned.
82. Gate planning and operations
The remote access allows to
grant remote access to the
System via the Internet (or local
terminal network) e.g for viewing
reference information about
terminal
operations/orders/vessel calls,
etc. and is available to the
shipping line agents and
forwarders.
83. Gate planning and operations
Remote access add-on is a
special web-interface for
forwarders that allows them to
schedule truck visits to the
terminals via Internet.
85. Truck arrival
- Numerous trucks assigned to the same time-slot arrive at the terminal
- Truck driver/vehicle must issue a permit to access the terminal
- Truck driver registers his visit using a self-service kiosk or via a clerk in the service
center
- The system automatically creates and electronic queue of drivers based on rules and
strategies used to minimize reshuffles and rehandles
- At this point the plate number is recognized by the OCR and automatically registered
in the TOS
87. OCR и ACS integration
Solvo.TOS can be seamlessly
integrated with OCR and AMCS
systems from all major vendors as well
as self-service kiosks for automatic
and real-time inspection of vehicles at
