The tips include making pleasing Allah the primary aim rather than profit; being truthful and honest with customers to build trust; being open to scrutiny and criticism of business practices; ensuring cleanliness especially for food businesses; aiming for continued expansion and improvement rather than just one location; cooperating with other Muslim businesses in the local market; and avoiding selling haram products that could undermine the Islamic mission of the business.
Commission Key Findings & Recommendations - Columbia Law School, Feb. 2013Emilie Pradichit
This document summarizes the key findings and recommendations of a report by the United Nations Development Programme's HIV, Health & Development Group. The report examines how legal environments influence HIV prevention, treatment, care, human rights, and the effectiveness of HIV investments. It finds that punitive laws criminalizing HIV status fuel stigma and do not reduce infections. The report recommends countries repeal discriminatory HIV laws and ensure gender equality, children's rights, and access to health services. It calls for legal reforms to address issues like violence against women and girls, which increase HIV risk.

This document provides an overview of the Sixth Sense technology developed by Pranav Mistry. It describes the components of Sixth Sense, which include a camera, projector, and mirror coupled in a wearable pendant. The camera tracks hand gestures and objects in view, the projector displays digital information on surfaces, and the mirror reflects the image. Using colored markers and gesture recognition, Sixth Sense allows users to interact with and manipulate projected information in natural ways. A number of potential applications are outlined, such as making calls, getting directions, taking photos, and accessing information about products, books, and people. Advantages include support for multi-touch interaction, portability, and a connected experience between the digital and physical worlds.

IT enables the efficient collection and sharing of large amounts of data but can negatively impact individual privacy if not properly regulated. For example, companies may monitor employees' private email messages. There is an ongoing debate around privacy legislation, specifically regarding opt-in versus opt-out policies for how personal data is collected and used, and how to prevent issues like unauthorized access to personal files and excessive computer monitoring. Common privacy issues involve internet privacy, how data is matched and shared between systems, the strength of privacy laws, and censorship online.
Privacy laws refer to regulations that govern the collection, storage, and use of personal information about individuals by public and private organizations. Many countries strictly regulate how businesses and government agencies collect and use personal data. For example, in the United States the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and Computer Fraud and Abuse Act prohibit intercepting communications, stealing data, or hacking systems, while Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act regulates how personal data is used in commercial activities.
