This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser. The frame has a lifetime warranty while other components such as wheels and grips have a 90 day warranty. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, or normal wear and tear. If you have any questions about the warranty, contact an authorized dealer.
This document provides an analysis of posture including definitions, types of posture, and the key body structures and forces involved in maintaining posture. It discusses static and dynamic posture and defines the concepts of center of gravity, base of support, and line of gravity. It describes the various systems that contribute to postural control and different postural responses to perturbations. Finally, it analyzes posture in the sagittal plane and the forces acting on the ankle, knee, hip, and lumbosacral joint regions.
The document describes a proposed "Rocket-Pogo" device that would allow astronauts to maneuver in space. The Rocket-Pogo would have simple controls, including thrust, stabilize, and brake. Thrust would come from a downward facing thruster, allowing the astronaut to orient the device as needed. Stabilize would lock the attitude of the Rocket-Pogo to arrest any rotation. The basic usage would involve using stabilize to position the body, then position and stabilize the Rocket-Pogo before thrusting. Some key advantages discussed are that a handheld device like this would help maintain a stable posture during acceleration and allow acceleration in any direction by pointing with the hands.
The quick reference guide provides instructions for operating various vehicle features in 3 sentences or less:
It introduces the main controls of the Audi A2 including locking and unlocking doors, operating the radio controlled remote, adjusting seats and belts, and using safety features for children. Instructions are also given for instruments and controls, lights, windows, mirrors, air vents, gears, and more. Safety is emphasized including wearing seatbelts and child seat guidelines.

Whiplash is an acute neck injury caused by sudden, unexpected impact that jerks the head back and forth, snapping the neck out of alignment. It can occur in traffic accidents, during sports, or on rollercoasters. Symptoms may include neck pain, headaches, and numbness. Proper adjustment of head restraints and seat position can help prevent whiplash by supporting and bracing the head and neck during rear impacts. Drivers should ensure head restraints are high and close to the head, seats are positioned correctly, and sufficient space is left in front of the vehicle in traffic.
This quick reference card provides guidelines for properly securing child passengers based on their age and size. It outlines that infants and toddlers should ride in rear-facing car seats, with the infant's head supported by the back of the seat. Once toddlers are over a year old and 20 pounds, they can ride forward-facing, with the shoulder straps across their chest. For children ages 4-8, booster seats should be used with the lap belt low on the hips. The card stresses that children under 12 should always ride in the back seat and to consult the vehicle and seat manuals for comprehensive installation and use instructions.
Whiplash is an acute neck injury caused by sudden, unexpected impact that jerks the head back and forth, straining bones, muscles, nerves and discs in the neck region. It commonly occurs in car accidents when head restraints are improperly adjusted. ■ Seat adjustment
● To reduce the risk of sliding under the lap belt during a collision, do not
recline the seat more than necessary.
If the seat is too reclined, the lap belt may slide past the hips and apply
restraint forces directly to the abdomen, or your neck may contact the
shoulder belt, increasing the risk of death or serious injury in the event of
an accident.
Adjustments should not be made while driving as the seat may unexpect-
edly move and cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
● After adjusting the seat, make sure that the seat is locked in position.

STEP 2 Adjust the position of the front seat and the angle of the seat-
back. (→P. 99)
Depending on the position of the front seat, if the seatback is folded
backward, it may interfere with the operation of the rear seat.
STEP 3 Stow the buckle of the seat belts.
STEP 4 Lower the head restraint of the rear seat. (→P. 105)

Seat belt pretensioners (front seats)
The pretensioner helps the seat
belt to quickly restrain the occu-
pant by retracting the seat belt
when the vehicle is subjected to
certain types of severe frontal
collision.
The pretensioner does not acti-
vate in the event of a minor frontal
impact, a side impact, a rear
impact or a vehicle rollover.
110
13. 1-4. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
Pre-collision seat belts (front seats of vehicles with pre-collision
system)
If the system determines that a collision is unavoidable, the front seat
belts will retract before the collision. (→P. 303) 1
Before driving
■ Emergency locking retractor (ELR)
The retractor will lock the belt during a sudden stop or on impact. It may also
lock if you lean forward too quickly. A slow, easy motion will allow the belt to
extend so that you can move around fully.
■ Automatic locking retractor (ALR)
When a passenger’s shoulder belt is completely extended and then
retracted even slightly, the belt is locked in that position and cannot be
extended. This feature is used to hold the child restraint system (CRS) firmly.
To free the belt again, fully retract the belt and then pull the belt out once
more. (→P. 165)
■ Child seat belt usage
The seat belts of your vehicle were principally designed for persons of adult
size.
● Use a child restraint system appropriate for the child, until the child
becomes large enough to properly wear the vehicle’s seat belt. (→P. 160)
● When the child becomes large enough to properly wear the vehicle’s
seat belt, follow the instructions on P. 109 regarding seat belt usage.
■ Replacing the belt after the pretensioner has been activated
If the vehicle is involved in multiple collisions, the pretensioner will activate
for the first collision, but will not activate for the second or subsequent colli-
sions.
111
14. 1-4. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
■ Seat belt extender
If your seat belts cannot be fastened
securely because they are not long
enough, a personalized seat belt
extender is available from your Toyota
dealer free of charge.
CAUTION
Observe the following precautions to reduce the risk of injury in the event of
sudden braking, sudden swerving or an accident.
Failing to do so may cause death or serious injury.
■ Wearing a seat belt
● Ensure that all passengers wear a seat belt.
● Always wear a seat belt properly.
● Each seat belt should be used by one person only. Do not use a seat belt
for more than one person at once, including children.
● Toyota recommends that children be seated in the rear seat and always
use a seat belt and/or an appropriate child restraint system.
● To achieve a proper seating position, do not recline the seat more than
necessary. The seat belt is most effective when the occupants are sitting
up straight and well back in the seats.
● Do not wear the shoulder belt under your arm.
● Always wear your seat belt low and snug across your hips.
● When using the rear outside seat belts, make sure that the belt pass
through the guide.
112
15. 1-4. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
CAUTION
■ Pregnant women
Obtain medical advice and wear the seat 1
belt in the proper way. (→P. 109)
Women who are pregnant should position
Before driving
the lap belt as low as possible over the
hips in the same manner as other occu-
pants. Extend the shoulder belt com-
pletely over the shoulder and position the
belt across the chest. Avoid belt contact
over the rounding of the abdominal area.
If the seat belt is not worn properly, not
only the pregnant woman, but also the
fetus could suffer death or serious injury
as a result of sudden braking or a colli-
sion.
■ People suffering illness
Obtain medical advice and wear the seat belt in the proper way. (→P. 109)
113
16. 1-4. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
CAUTION
■ When children are in the vehicle
Do not allow children to play with the seat belt. If the seat belt becomes
twisted around a child’s neck, it may lead to choking or other serious injuries
that could result in death.
If this occurs and the buckle cannot be unfastened, scissors should be used
to cut the belt.
■ Seat belt pretensioners
● Do not place anything, such as a cushion, on the front passenger’s seat.
Doing so will disperse the passenger’s weight, which prevents the sensor
from detecting the passenger’s weight properly. As a result, the seat belt
pretensioner for the front passenger’s seat may not activate in the event of
a collision.
● If the pretensioner has activated, the SRS warning light will come on. In
that case, the seat belt cannot be used again and must be replaced at
your Toyota dealer.
■ Adjustable shoulder anchor
Always make sure the shoulder belt is positioned across the center of your
shoulder. The belt should be kept away from your neck, but not falling off
your shoulder. Failure to do so could reduce the amount of protection in an
accident and cause death or serious injuries in the event of a sudden stop,
sudden swerve or accident. (→P. 110)
114
17. 1-4. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
CAUTION
■ Seat belt damage and wear
● Do not damage the seat belts by allowing the belt, plate, or buckle to be
jammed in the door. 1
● Inspect the seat belt system periodically. Check for cuts, fraying, and loose
parts. Do not use a damaged seat belt until it is replaced. Damaged seat
Before driving
belts cannot protect an occupant from death or serious injury.
● Ensure that the belt and plate are locked and the belt is not twisted.
If the seat belt does not function correctly, immediately contact your Toyota
dealer.
● Replace the seat assembly, including the belts, if your vehicle has been
involved in a serious accident, even if there’s no obvious damage.
● Do not attempt to install, remove, modify, disassemble or dispose of the
seat belts. Have any necessary repairs carried out by your Toyota dealer.
Inappropriate handling of the pretensioner may prevent it from operating
properly, resulting in death or serious injury.
115
18. 1-4. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
CAUTION
■ Using a seat belt extender
● Do not wear the seat belt extender if you can fasten the seat belt without
the extender.
● Do not use the seat belt extender when installing a child restraint system
because the belt will not securely hold the child restraint system, increas-
ing the risk of death or serious injury in the event of an accident.
● The personalized extender may not be safe on another vehicle, when
used by another person, or at a different seating position other than the
one originally intended.
NOTICE
■ When using a seat belt extender
When releasing the seat belt, press on the buckle release button on the
extender, not on the seat belt.
This helps prevent damage to the vehicle interior and the extender itself.
