3. Who We Are & What We Do
The Sigma Alpha Mu Foundation supports education and leadership in a variety of ways.
Leadership Conference & Convention
Each summer Sigma Alpha Mu holds its Leadership Conference & Convention. Two students
from each chapter are required to attend. The educational programs offered include
sessions on leadership and team building, ethical decision making, networking and
academic success. The 2011 conference engaged 126 students.
2011 Scholarships
In 2011 the Sigma Alpha Mu Foundation distributed $126,950 to 176 graduate and
undergraduate recipients, including 71 Guller Young Scholars (new initiates with a 3.75+
GPA), Scholarships are based on both financial need and merit.
Chapter Leaders Day
The Foundation makes an annual grant to support this intense one-day program for chapter
leadership. Topics covered include goal setting and strategic planning, leadership and team
building and conflict resolution.
GreekLifeEdu Grant
All candidates are required to take GreekLifeEdu prior to their initiation into Sigma Alpha
Mu. This program assures that students are better decision makers for issues on campus
such as hazing, alcohol abuse and sexual assault. Results are measured and data shows
better long term decision making for students participating in this program.
Guller Scholars
The fund provides for leadership development programs, educational materials and the
Guller Scholars Program at Leadership Conference. Since its inception in 1985, the Guller
Fund has reached thousands of young fratres with programs on scholarship, personal
development, health issues and numerous other worthwhile topics.
4. Thank You
Thank you to all of our donors who made the programs we fund possible.
On behalf of all the scholarship recipients, the students who attended leadership
training, we thank all the donors who have contributed to the Sigma Alpha Mu
