Within Lucerne, motion is generated two ways. Its standard FlexFuel 3.9L 227-hp V-6 engine
generates 237 lb-ft of torque and runs on gasoline or E85,1 a blend of 85 percent ethanol and
15 percent gasoline. The second option is the available all-aluminum 32- valve Northstar
4.6L V-8 powering the Lucerne Super model. Its legendary status is proven with 292 hp, 288 lb-ft
of torque and quick acceleration with plenty of reserve power. They’re both mated to a
smooth-shifting, electronically tuned automatic transmission. For the ultimate in convenience,
Lucerne can be started from nearly 200 feet away with an available remote starter system.
