Aim : ICC with Exhibition halls, restaurant, Auditoriums for public use , Seminar hall, conference &
meeting rooms for business and five star hotel.
Site : Surrounded with IT hubs , Industries and Balewadi Stadium at Pune.
Plot area – 36875 sq mts
Total requirement - 35800 sq mt
Design Process : In response to the complex program requisites, I searched for an organizational
strategy that would guide my final design. I explored the qualities of “filtration,” a process that
separates and partially obstructs, and translated this operation into a tectonic device that could be
applied in plan and elevation.

Aim: The main aim of this project is to design and rebuild a model village, on a reduced scale,
which allows the experimentation, in an integral way, of innovative solutions for the current
problems of the villages. It foresee the creation of a model with an effective layout striking a
balance between green open spaces and actual construction sites, integrating the necessary
infrastructure and the common services. The project also experiment with different models of
affordable housing. A biological wastewater treatment plant will be included in the project, so that
100% of the wastewater will be recycled and reused for watering the green public spaces.
Site : Shirdale - a remote village in Ambegoan , Pune district , Maharashtra.
(Latitude – 18 deg 54’14.73” N, Longitude – 74 deg2’12.16” E, Height above sea level – 495m)
Population – 328(male-165,female-163)
Total area – 479.47 hectares
Forest – 116.47 hectares .
Agricultural land ( jirayat kshretra ) – 315.1 Hectares & Barren land ( gavaran ) – 2.55 Hectares
Design Process : Case studies & site analysis were the important keys to start the design.

Existing village layout & current
scenario of village –
• Dilapidated houses
• Water shortage for irrigation.-
dependent on rain water
• Use of LPG as fuel which is costly.
• 8 Hrs load shedding.
• Inapt infrastructure like roads , services
, school & hospitals & amenities.
• Soil erosion because of deforestation
• No other employment resource other
than agriculture.

Aim : Interpreting the imagery and ambition of the Master plan, the impression emerges of a future driven micro-city,
self-sustainable and self-sufficing. The First Phase of 15 acre of Residential development has to symbolically
represent this master plan vision.
Site : 2100 Feet high above the mean sea level, the 15 acre site is a Linear, steeply contoured patch of land. Steep
slopes to the South West and across the road to the North East. 42 Mts arterial road passing along the length of the
site to the non processing area. The site, in a way forms the GATEWAY to the non-processing zone.
Design Process : Scenic views to the west and the east are a key virtue of the site. The design proposal intends to
accentuate the views, framing them between the buildings.
S i t e a n a l y s i s
• Strong West winds in the summer and North
western winds in the winter are a key micro climatic
feature that should influence the design decisions.
.
•Nearly 33% (Approximately 5 acres)of the site falls
under High Slope zone with contours steeper than
1:5 ratio.

•The site contains about 5 acres of non-buildable
land (Slope higher than 1:5.
•Ideally, land of such slope should be excluded for
economic & efficient planning. But to meet the
project requirements, this area also needs to be
utilized.
•For the same purpose, the Studio apartments have
been planned on these hill slopes. These shall be in
form of cabins stacked above each other in a
stepped fashion, so as to have formed terraces.
•The sloping formed terraces will provide a splendid
view of the valley to each unit.

Blocks parallel to the wind direction will create wind shafts
which will adversely affect the condition of open spaces.
This will also orient buildings away from the views around.

2. Linear site along 42 mts road
Response: Avoiding monotonous linear arrangement
by proposing varied block orientations.

Aim: To create one of its kind, a landmark, shopping mall . Pune, in its heart, already has lots of shopping
arcades, streets and malls. To compete these, being on outskirts, the proposed one has to be unique in its
looks, facilities and comforts.
Site : Site with area 4.5 acres and some constrains like BRT reservations and high tension line, have to
accommodate shops, showrooms , food courts, banquet halls and theaters.
Design Process : Taking the concept of arcs, concave and convex, overlapped on each other creating an
atrium in the center and double height terraces on sides. Green building, as today's demand and clients choice,
special attention has given in planning as in how to reduce the air-conditions and use maximum daylight.

Site : Surrounded with IT hubs , Industries and Balewadi Stadium at Pune. Plot area – 36875 sq mts Total requirement - 35800 sq mt Design Process : In response to the complex program requisites, I searched for an organizational strategy that would guide my final design. I explored the qualities of “filtration,” a process that separates and partially obstructs, and translated this operation into a tectonic device that could be applied in plan and elevation. Architecture portfolio P r o f e s s i o n a l w o r k D e e p t i T e k m a l Aim : Interpreting the imagery and ambition of the Master plan, the impression emerges of a future driven micro-city, self-sustainable and self-sufficing. The First Phase of 15 acre of Residential development has to symbolically represent this master plan vision. Site : 2100 Feet high above the mean sea level, the 15 acre site is a Linear, steeply contoured patch of land. Steep slopes to the South West and across the road to the North East. 42 Mts arterial road passing along the length of the site to the non processing area. The site, in a way forms the GATEWAY to the non-processing zone. Design Process : Scenic views to the west and the east are a key virtue of the site. The design proposal intends to accentuate the views, framing them between the buildings. S i t e a n a l y s i s • Strong West winds in the summer and North western winds in the winter are a key micro climatic feature that should influence the design decisions. . •Nearly 33% (Approximately 5 acres)of the site falls under High Slope zone with contours steeper than 1:5 ratio. • 15. •The site contains about 5 acres of non-buildable land (Slope higher than 1:5. •Ideally, land of such slope should be excluded for economic & efficient planning. But to meet the project requirements, this area also needs to be utilized. •For the same purpose, the Studio apartments have been planned on these hill slopes. These shall be in form of cabins stacked above each other in a stepped fashion, so as to have formed terraces. •The sloping formed terraces will provide a splendid view of the valley to each unit. • 17. Aim: To create one of its kind, a landmark, shopping mall . Pune, in its heart, already has lots of shopping arcades, streets and malls. To compete these, being on outskirts, the proposed one has to be unique in its looks, facilities and comforts. Site : Site with area 4.5 acres and some constrains like BRT reservations and high tension line, have to accommodate shops, showrooms , food courts, banquet halls and theaters. Design Process : Taking the concept of arcs, concave and convex, overlapped on each other creating an atrium in the center and double height terraces on sides. Green building, as today's demand and clients choice, special attention has given in planning as in how to reduce the air-conditions and use maximum daylight.
