These passages discuss the relationship between love, fear, and God. They indicate that those who fear God will be taught and prospered by Him, and will understand His covenant. Perfect love that comes from God casts out fear, as one who truly loves God has no need to fear. We are able to love God because He first loved us through sending His Son.
The document discusses the story of Daniel from the Bible. It describes how Daniel and his friends were taken captive to Babylon and given Babylonian names and training for three years. However, Daniel resolved in his heart not to defile himself by eating the king's food or drinking his wine. This showed that despite the situation, Daniel remained committed to his faith and moral principles. The key lessons are that followers of Jesus should live by God's power rather than just words, and remain resolved in their decisions as Daniel was.
David defeats the giant Philistine warrior Goliath by striking him in the forehead with a stone from his sling. The passage describes how Goliath taunts the Israelites for 40 days, challenging them to send out a champion to fight him. Though afraid, the shepherd boy David volunteers to fight Goliath in the name of the Lord. Remembering how God delivered him from the paw of a lion and bear, David trusts that God will deliver him from Goliath as well. With five smooth stones from the brook and his sling, David defeats Goliath and inspires the Israelites to rout the Philistine army.
1) Jesus began his ministry in order to establish himself as the Messiah through his words and works.
2) He taught in synagogues, preaching about the Kingdom of God, and healed all manner of sickness and disease.
3) His miracles served to affirm his divine nature and give people a foretaste of the Kingdom, as prophesied that the Messiah would perform miracles.
This document discusses the many blessings that Christians have through Christ. It lists blessings like forgiveness of sins, being part of God's family (the church), having God as our Father, and finding joy and happiness. It encourages counting our blessings and discusses four blessings in particular: forgiveness through confession, being part of God's family in the church, having God as our Father who protects and disciplines us, and finding joy through keeping God's commandments. The conclusion urges that all these blessings are found through being in Christ.
The Bible is filled with many fascinating patterns. Many of these patterns are extremely interesting. One such pattern is found between the man Joseph of the Old Testament and the man Jesus Christ in the New Testament.
This presentation identifies some of the most peculiar similarities between Joesph and Jesus… or as we call it: The Joseph-Jesus Pattern.

This document contains prayers and affirmations about who believers are in Christ. It discusses that believers are called and redeemed through Christ, and that through Christ they reign in life, have eternal life, and are joint heirs with Christ. The document also states that believers are sanctified, have victory and triumph, are new creatures with the righteousness of God in Christ. Additionally, it says that believers have liberty, are crucified and have put on Christ, and are heirs of God through Christ, having received spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ and being chosen in Christ before the world's foundation.
The passage discusses having the mind of Christ. It notes that having the mind of Christ means understanding God's plan, seeking God's glory, preaching salvation, and sharing Christ's compassion for the lost. It contrasts the mind of Christ with human wisdom, and says the mind of Christ involves hidden truths now revealed through the Spirit. It states that only believers who have the Spirit of God can understand the mind of Christ, while those without the Spirit find it foolishness. Having the mind of Christ gives believers discernment in spiritual matters.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ. A study through the book of Revelation.yousendjunk
The document provides an overview of a study on the book of Revelation. It discusses the purpose of the study as laying groundwork to help understand Revelation, including understanding its use of symbolism and encouraging Christians to remain faithful. It then summarizes several passages from Revelation 1, including John receiving his vision while exiled on Patmos and being told to write letters to 7 churches. Key details about Jesus Christ are provided.
This document outlines a process for preparing topical and doctrinal sermons with three main steps: engaging the text through prayer and questions, researching the issue through various theological sources, and contextualizing the findings for one's congregation. Key aspects of the research process include choosing classic and contemporary theologians to guide study, comparing research to the congregation's situation, and developing topical series. The goal is to teach the faith through deductive or inductive sermon forms.
Paul urges the Philippians to have humility and unity through the example of Christ. He recounts how Christ, though divine, humbled himself by becoming human and dying on the cross. Paul then gives examples of others exemplifying humility: Timothy serves others above himself; Epaphroditus risked his life to serve the Philippians and Paul. Paul wishes to send Timothy and Epaphroditus back to the Philippians to further encourage humility and unity.
Its easy to overcome depression when you know God is your strength in your distress, he is a refuge from every storm and a shadow when the going gets to hot to handle’ Isaiah 25:4
Its easy... just do it!!
The document contrasts jealousy, ambition and self-seeking with gentleness, mercy and peace. It states that envy and selfish ambition lead to disorder and wickedness, while wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle and willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits without partiality or hypocrisy. Conflicts come from inner desires that are not fulfilled, leading people to commit murder or engage in disputes to obtain what they want but do not have.

The document discusses the importance of knowing Christ. It states that through Christ the veil is removed and believers can be transformed into God's glory. It also notes that Christ's death, burial and resurrection is the gospel message through which people are saved. Additionally, it emphasizes that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one can know God the Father except through knowing Christ.
Jesus tells a parable contrasting a Pharisee and tax collector who went to the temple to pray. The Pharisee boasts of his righteousness and obedience to religious duties, looking down on others. The tax collector humbles himself before God, asking for mercy as a sinner. Jesus says the tax collector, not the Pharisee, was justified by God for humbling himself rather than exalting himself.
The passage discusses the parable of the unforgiving servant told by Jesus in Matthew 18. In the parable, a king forgives a servant an immense debt, but then the servant refuses to forgive a fellow servant a much smaller debt. The king punishes the unforgiving servant for his lack of mercy. The passage emphasizes that forgiveness should be unlimited, as God forgives infinitely, and that a lack of forgiveness will be punished.
God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning. Many generations throughout history either did not know God or ignored evidence of his existence. Knowing God involves seeking him with all one's heart, having the mind of Christ, and understanding his divine nature and attributes through careful study of scripture and creation. True knowledge of God is demonstrated through love, faith, and obedience to his commandments.
This document provides information about the book "The Mind of Christ" by David Alsobrook. It discusses how Adam had a perfect memory and unlimited imagination before the Fall, as evidenced by his ability to name all the animals. It argues that Christians can have the same powerful mind that Jesus and Adam possessed through receiving the mind of Christ. The document examines how forgetfulness came as a result of the curse, and encourages readers to consider the provisions made available to restore people's minds and ability to remember scripture.
The document describes Jesus' early life, beginning with his birth in Bethlehem and circumcision there. It mentions his presentation at the Temple in Jerusalem in accordance with Jewish law. When Herod sought to kill Jesus, an angel warned Joseph in a dream and the family fled to Egypt. Later they returned to Nazareth and Jesus grew up there. The document also describes a young Jesus discussing scripture with religious teachers in the Temple in Jerusalem, impressing them with his wisdom.

Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

16 We Know 1 John 4:13-18
1. We Know 1 John 4:13-18 Adapted from a Steve Shepherd sermon http://www.sermoncentral.com/sermons/we-know-steve-shepherd-sermon-on-assurance-of-salvation-148976.asp
2. 1 John 4:13 NET By this we know that we reside in God and he in us: in that he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides in him and he in God. 16 And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us.
3. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him. 17By this love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as Jesus is, so also are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love.
4. Vance Havner was a southern Baptist preacher. (1901 - 1986) He was a very popular "revivalist" and Bible conference speaker and authored over 30 books of sermons and devotions. He became a Christian as a boy, licensed to preach at twelve and ordained at fifteen. His charm, wit, and homespun style of relating biblical truth were convicting and unforgettable. Here are some words from Havner when he was being interviewed.
5. Havner: Circumstances change, but preaching never changes. We preach a message so much greater than ourselves. We must give it our best as we stand behind the pulpit. I hear so much today about tension. If the preacher is going to give preaching his best, he needs to be tense. I don’t mean nervous but keyed up with God’s power and message. There’s not anything that can rejuvenate me like preaching.
6. Preaching should be full of life. It is life. R. G. Lee used to say, "There’s not anything that’s wrong with me that a good sermon won’t cure". How do you prepare yourself and your sermons to preach? Havner: I don’t have a set pattern. I like to do a lot of walking and thinking. Walking is a thing of the past. Preachers are involved in too many meetings and programs. Meditation and solitude are lacking in many of our preachers.
7. Not so much praying, but just thinking about the things of God. I have a place down the road where I do a lot of walking and thinking. Occasionally, I get distracted by someone on a bicycle or one of these joggers. I like to tell the story about the man who had a heart attack jogging from a health food store. You can’t do much thinking while jogging and gasping for breath.
8. Thinking is obviously very good. And the reason some preachers don’t produce much is because they don’t think much. It’s like that story about Little Emily who was complaining to her mother that her stomach hurt. Her mother replied, "That’s because it’s empty. Maybe you should try putting something in it."
9. The next day, the preacher came to Emily’s family’s home for lunch. He mentioned his head hurting, to which Emily immediately replied, "That’s because it’s empty. Maybe you should try putting something in it." Someone said: "Some sermons are like chickens with their heads cut off- once you think the sermon is done, it just jumps back up and runs in another direction!"
10. A woman by the name of Gladys Dunne was visiting a church for the first time. After the service, as the congregation was exchanging greetings, she extended her hand to another and said, "Hi, I’m Gladys Dunn." The other replied, "I’m glad he’s done, too!"
11. The preacher was greeting folks at the door after the service. A woman said, "Preacher, that was a very good sermon." The preacher said, "Oh great, then I have to give the credit to the Holy Spirit." The lady said, "Well, it wasn’t THAT good!"
12. Vance Havner’s wrote: I feel like American humorist Josh Billings who said, “I’d rather know a few things for certain than be sure of a lot of things that ain’t so.” I AGREE! I think there are many people in our world who are sure they’re sure about many things that ain’t so! God help us to be sure, however, about things that ARE SO!
13. According to John, we know what we know and stand on it! 1- We know that we are in Him2- We know the God of love3- We know the security of salvation
14. WE KNOW THAT WE ARE IN HIM 1 John 4:13 NET By this we know that we reside in God and he in us: in that he has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 15If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides in him and he in God.
15. It is said that certain aborigines in Australia do not know how to count above three. They say, “One, two, three, enough.” They have a limited horizon in material things. Their desires do not go beyond “three.”
16. I think this is true for many people when it comes to a knowledge of God; THEIR KNOWLEDGE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Many don’t care to improve that knowledge. That’s why they don’t go to church very often or don’t read the Word of God for themselves.
17. Some people may think they’re going to get too religious to the point where they can’t enjoy the world and they’d rather have the pleasures of this world instead of God. They have more than just one foot in the world and one in the church. It’s more like one and a half feet in the world and maybe a half foot in the Lord’s church.
18. But isn’t there something better? Isn’t there a better life than perhaps what we’re now experiencing? Isn’t there a way to advance to a higher realm in life? What if you could reach a greater dimension in life?
19. When some men were young they loved Superman. Of course, it was George Reeves or later Christopher Reeves who played Superman and I’m sure they had padded muscles. Those young kids wanted to be Superman. They dreamed what it would be like, flying and doing those superhuman feats of strength.
20. But obviously, it was not possible. They could only dream. But today I can do more than just dream a dream. I can be elevated to a better and higher level in life. In fact, almost a superhuman level. SOUND CRAZY? It’s not and here it is. Acts 4:13 NET When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and discovered that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized these men had been with Jesus.
21. This is what I’m talking: ordinary men elevated to the level of becoming like Jesus! Ordinary fisherman who bore the image of Jesus! Men who previously had been called the “sons of thunder” now possessing the sweet, compassionate character of Jesus.
22. That’s what I want. That’s what all Christians should desire to have or experience in life. We all should want to become more like Jesus, because that would change us from the mundane, the ordinary, the ho hum to the heavenly, to the divine, to the magnificent, etc.How is this change possible? It’s possible through the Holy Spirit who lives within us.
23. 2 Corinthians 3:18 NET And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit. YOU HAVE DIVINE POWER LIVING WITHIN YOU! We know we are in Christ because of Him who lives within us!
24. WE KNOW THE GOD OF LOVE 16And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him.We know the love of God and the God of love. John says that we rely on the love God has for us.
25. Max Lucado tells this story: For an extraordinary pitcher he performed few extraordinary feats. Though a veteran of 21 seasons, in only one did he win more than 20 games. He never pitched a no-hitter and only once did he lead the league in any category.
26. Yet on June 21, 1986, Don Sutton rubbed pitching elbows with the true legends of baseball by becoming the 13th pitcher to win 300 games. His analysis of his success is worth noting: "A grinder and a mechanic" is what he calls himself. "I never considered myself flamboyant or exceptional. But all my life I’ve found a way to get the job done."
27. And get it done he did. Through two decades, six presidential terms, and four trades, he consistently did what pitchers are supposed to do: win games. Don Sutton sounds very much like what we would call “reliable.”He was always there. Always pitching. Always doing his job.
28. Are you reliable? Trustworthy? Consistent? Faithful? Do you always show up for work on time? Do you always do more than is expected of you? Do you ever go beyond in order to help others or be a blessing to them?Haven’t you noticed how God always goes beyond? He goes beyond the second mile to win and woo us, to bless us, to care for us, etc.
29. Remember the story of the prodigal son? Where is God in that story? Look at how longsuffering or patient God was with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and others! All of these men and more had faults and sins, but God patiently dealt with them so He could use them in life.
30. And look at us! What is there in your life that shouldn’t be or something that has hindered you in your relationship to God? I would bet there is something and yet, we are still here. God is still working with us and in us to change us and improve us.
31. 2 Timothy 1:11 NET For this gospel I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher. 12 Because of this, in fact, I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, because I know the one in whom my faith is set and I am convinced that he is able to protect what has been entrusted to me until that day.
32. Don’t you like Paul’s attitude and faith? I am not ashamed of the gospel. I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED! Do you know Him whom you have believed for your salvation? Do you really know Him and depend on Him? 16And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him.
33. WE KNOW THE SECURITY OF SALVATION 17 By this love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as Jesus is, so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love.
34. After John Wesley had been preaching for some time, someone asked him, "Are you sure, Mr. Wesley, of your salvation?" "Well," he answered, "Jesus Christ died for the whole world." "Yes, we all believe that; but are you sure that you are saved?" Wesley replied that he was sure that provision had been made for his salvation.
35. "But are you sure, Wesley, that you are saved?" It went like an arrow to his heart, and he had no rest or power until that question was settled. IS THIS QUESTION SETTLED IN YOUR HEART?
36. One person said regarding salvation and assurance, there are three groups of people: 1) those who are secure but not sure; 2) those who are "sure" but not secure;3) those who are secure and sure.
37. Category one are conscientious believers in Christ who are saved but lack assurance. In category two are professing Christians who say, "Even though I’m living in sin, I’ll make it. After all, ’once saved, always saved!’" The third group are born-again believers who enjoy a warm, secure relationship with Christ.
38. DO YOU KNOW? Are you sure that you’re sure? Are you looking to Him for your salvation or are you looking at yourself, your sinfulness? Is not Christ’s sacrifice greater than our sinfulness? IS NOT HE GREATER THAN US? Many people are not sure or secure because they focus on themselves or trust themselves more than they trust Christ. But our salvation is all about Christ!
39. The old Scottish lady was right. When she was visited by a very young minister who was short on experience, she held fast to her firm assurance of her salvation in Christ. “But just suppose that after all God should let you sink into hell?” said the minister. “He would lose more than I would,” came the firm answer of faith. “All I would lose would be my own soul, but He would lose His good name.”
40. I have an insurance policyWritten in the blood of the Lamb,Sealed by the Cross of Jesus,Redeemable wherever I am! The company will never go bankrupt,It is bonded by God’s promise true;It will keep every word of its contract,Exactly what it says it will do.
41. I don’t have to die to collect it,No premiums do I have to pay;All I do is to keep God’s promiseAnd walk in His holy way. 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love.
42. What a great text! We must grow in our love for Him and as we do, we will not fear Him. And we will not fear the judgment or any kind of punishment. Love always conquers fear. In the hallowed halls of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, Dr. Walter Stewart, an economist, watched several graduate students coming out of a seminar. “How did it go?” he asked one.
43. “Wonderful,” the student replied. “Everything we knew about physics last week isn’t true!”The beauty of learning about God is that our knowledge of God is always TRUE if it is based on the Word of God. We can trust God’s Word. It changes not and He changes not. There is nothing better than knowing Him who created us and saves us! And the more we get to know Him, the more we’ll love Him.
