This document outlines the goals and timeline for temporary art commissions and a professional mentoring program in City Park, Bradford. The objectives are to embed artists and arts in the park's regeneration through innovative artworks using film and media. Selected artists will create temporary installations engaging local communities and complementing permanent works. Mentees will get experience developing interventions and animating public spaces while raising awareness of the park. The program includes selecting artists, concept proposals, installation, showcasing works, and decommissioning pieces by October.

AIM The aim for each of the temporary commissions is to exemplify the overall vision and aspirations for the Arts of Place: City Park, Bradford programme and its contribution to Bradford City of Film – specifically Embedding Artists & the Arts at the centre of regeneration . OBJECTIVES To develop innovative temporary artworks using film and related media To explore the animation of ‘public space’ as an approach to public engagement through the development of site specific works 3)To complement the City Park permanent commission programme and connect as appropriate with the 3 artists commissioned as part of this programme To engage with local communities and raise awareness of City Park as a place for the people of Bradford To engage with local / regional artists (or artist groups) through involvement in the Professional Mentoring programme and events within the overall programme To integrate with Bradford City of Film as appropriate – promoting the Think Bradford Think Film ethos
AIM To provide action-based learning opportunities for Local / Regional Artists (or Artist Groups) that are underpinned by the overall vision and aspirations for the Arts of Place: City Park, Bradford programme and its contribution to Bradford City of Film – specifically the development of Local Partnerships and Capacity and Skills. OBJECTIVES To provide an opportunity for Local / Regional Artists to participate in a Professional Mentoring Programme linked to the Temporary Commission programme and the wider City Park development – working with Temporary Commission Artists, Beam and other appropriate partners To undertake action-based learning through the development of temporary interventions preferably using film and related media 3)To explore the animation of ‘public space’ as an approach to public engagement through the development of site specific works To complement the City Park permanent commission programme and connect as appropriate with the 3 artists commissioned as part of this programme To engage with local communities and raise awareness of City Park as a place for the people of Bradford To integrate with Bradford City of Film as appropriate – promoting the Think Bradford Think Film ethos
