Commercial Street Mall
Stroll down the beautifully landscaped outdoor pedestrian mall--the oldest
pedestrian mall in the nation--and enjoy the unique collection of locally
owned shops.
Providence Hill Farms
Come spend some time out on the farm! Possibilities include milking
goats, making soap from goats’ milk, learning about artisan cheese mak-
ing, helping prepare fresh pizza using an old-fashioned brick oven, or just
taking a basic tour of the farm. Weather permitting.
Most Wanted Liquor Tour
Seth Fox and family built the still and produce Most Wanted Vodka and
other alcohol products. Take a tour, learn about the brewing process and
enjoy tasting a few samples.

Nell Hill’s
If shopping is on your list, you can’t miss Nell Hill’s! A nationally acclaimed
home furnishings emporium, owned by Mary Carol Garrity, presents a
delightful opportunity to browse unbelievable selection, and perhaps take
home a treasure or two.
St. Benedict Abbey
The Benedictine monks established the Abbey in the late 1850s. It features
a 44-foot tall nave ceiling, unique frescoes and facing choir stalls where
the monks gather three times a day for common prayer. The Abbey is a
self-guided tour but arrangements can be made for a guided tour by one of
the Benedictine monks.
Mount Saint Scholastica
The Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica have been in Atchison since 1863.
Their chapel is constructed of beautiful marble, and includes a large rose
window and stained glass windows that honor seven martyred female
saints.
International Forest of Friendship
Take a walk through the International Forest of Friendship, an arboretum
filled with living, growing memorials to those who have been involved in
aviation and space exploration. The forest contains trees that represent all
50 states and over 35 countries, as well as the moon tree.
Amelia Earhart Earthwork
Visit the overlook at Warnock Lake for the view of the one acre portrait
of Amelia Earhart, created in 1997 by crop artist Stan Herd as part of the
inaugural Amelia Earhart Festival.
Independence Creek Hiking/Biking Trail & Riverfront
The Riverfront walkway features the Lewis & Clark Pavilion, Veteran’s Me-
morial Plaza, a 10-mile hiking/biking path along the river, boat access and
a children’s play area with a keel-boat replica.
Riverwood Winery Tour
Nestled in the Missouri River bluffs, this winery offers tastings and tours
year around. Special scheduled events include live music, domestic and
international wine and spirit tastings, live theater and food events.
