Rafael Paz has an extensive career in both public service and the private sector in the Dominican Republic. He holds several leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of CONEP and member of the National Council for Social Security Fund. He has degrees from UNIBE and other universities and has advised the National Assembly and presidents. Dr. Paz currently coordinates CONEP's representatives to government agencies and participates in national and international forums on business and economic issues.

SANTO DOMINGO.- La Dirección General de Cine (DGCINE), a través de su departamento de Sistema de Información y Registro (SIRECINE) publicó los números de aquellos filmes dominicanos que han alcanzado las mejores cifras en materia de recaudación de taquilla de este año 2014.
En el listado la comedia de Roberto Ángel Salcedo,“Vamos de robo” ha sido la más favorecida con un total de 367,840 boletas vendidas para una recaudación de $60 millones, 780 mil, 765 pesos, incluso superando en recaudación a importantes filmes de factura norteamericana como “Transformers 4”, “Malificent”, “X-Men”, “Captain America”, “Guardians of the Galaxie” y “Rio 2”.
Por su parte, que “Lotoman 3” de Archie López vendió un total de 248,575 boletas para una recaudación de $42 millones, 959 mil, 795 pesos. La tercera posición es para el filme “Un lío en dólares” de Francis Disla la cual vendió 148,761 boletas obteniendo $25 millones, 404 mil, 47 pesos.
Y el cuarto lugar lo alcanzó el drama de Alfonso Rodríguez, “Locas y atrapadas” la cual vendió 87,230 boletas adquiriendo $16 millones, 074 mil, 895 pesos en beneficios.

This workshop focused on key issues related to Regional Trade Agreements (RTA) and the environment. It had three main objectives: (i) to take stock of current experience and insights on RTAs and the environment from different stakeholders, and to establish a stakeholder dialogue on this topic; (ii) to investigate how RTAs can serve as a vehicle to advance a resource efficient and circular economy transition; and (iii) to explore the potential of RTAs in addressing the nexus of illegal trade and environmental crime
The Advisory Group on Gender Equality will assist WWAP in mainstreaming gender equality considerations in its activities and products, in particular the World Water Development Report (WWDR). It will provide guidance and feedback on the design and implementation of the programme's gender mainstreaming strategy, provide expertise, and suggest actions as needed.
The Advisory Group on Gender Equality will initially serve through the 4th phase of WWAP, until the end of 2012.

Dr. RAFAEL PAZ
Rafael Paz, Executive Vice-President of CONEP, member of the National Council for Social
Security Fund (CNSS), the Board of Directors of the Endowment Fund of the Reformed
Enterprises (FONPER), Technical Support Committee of the Pact for Education Sector Reform,
Executive Committee of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) National Commission for
Employment, Ministry of Labour, Committee on Oversight of the Central Electoral Board and
the Office of Supervising Engineers of State (OISOE).
He is an alumnus of UNIBE where he earned a Law degree. He continued his studies and
earned a master's degree in Government and Public Management from the University
Institute of Research Ortega y Gasset in Spain. His post degrees studies include Political
Communication at George Washington University; Management of Organizations,
sponsored by the International Organization of Employers, ILO, and Incae. He was
Professor of the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña; was Advisor to the
National Assembly during the Reformation of the 2010 Constitution; Constitutional
Affairs Advisor to the President of the House of Representatives, Chair of the Senate and
the Central Electoral Board. At the same time, he was General Counsel of the Senate
Constitutional Affairs Advisor. He was the first Secretary of the Board of the National School
for Electoral Training and Civil Status.
He is a member of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum.
He was appointed Technical Director of CONEP in September 2011 and CEO in January
2013. He currently holds the position as CONEP's Executive Vice President since July 2013.
Dr. Paz is currently the coordinator of the representatives of CONEP before all agencies
and public boards and participates actively in various national and international forums and
councils in representation of the business sector.
Internationally, representing the Dominican Republic he stands as the Executive Secretary in
the Binational Forum Quisqueya. A member of the Organizing Committee of the American
Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR)’s Dominican Week in the
United States, and a represents CONEP in the Federation of Private Entities of Central
America, Panama and Dominican Republic (FEDEPRICAP).
At the national level he represents CONEP on the Executive Committee of the Economic and
Social Council (ECOSOC), is a member of the National Commission for Employment, Ministry
of Labour and the Committee on Veeduría of the Central Electoral Board and the Office of
Supervising Engineers for State Public Works (OISOE).
