Congratulations! On behalf of the University of Alberta, it is my great pleasure to notify you that
you have been selected to receive A University of Alberta Undergraduate Scholarship from the
Undergraduate Academic Scholarship Competition, valued at $1500.
Your achievements embody our values of discovery and learning at the University of Alberta.
Award acceptance & deadline: You need to accept your award in Bear Tracks in order to
receive it. For directions on how to accept your award in Bear Tracks go to Accepting &
Declining Awards. You have until September 30, 2016 to accept your award. If no action is
taken by the requested date, your award will be cancelled.
Terms of reference: Awarded to student(s) with superior academic achievement who have
completed at least one year of studies at the University of Alberta. Selection based on academic
standing.
Donor: The University of Alberta.
Registration requirements: Receipt of these funds is contingent upon meeting the conditions
above and maintaining full-time registration status at the University of Alberta. Should your
registration status change during the tenure of this award, you are required to notify Student
Connect. If you do not maintain full-time registration status, you may be required to repay all or
a portion of the award funds you have received.
If you are not planning on attending the University of Alberta, please decline your offer so that
another eligible recipient can be awarded the scholarship.
Additional information
All award payments will be applied directly to any outstanding tuition fees first. If you are full-
time in both terms, awards will be split in half, with 50 per cent of the award applied to your
tuition account for the Fall Term and the other 50 per cent applied to your tuition account for the
Winter Term.
If your tuition is already paid in full, a refund will automatically be processed and mailed
directly to you in the form of a cheque. This will be sent to the address you have listed on Bear
Tracks. Should your registration drop to part-time, your scholarships will be prorated.
Please Note: If you would like to receive your refunds via direct deposit, please enter your
banking information into Bear Tracks under `Financials - Direct Deposit'. Direct deposit
payments can only be made to recognized Canadian financial institutions and only to chequing or
saving accounts, not lines of credit.
