                                      Looking for something to do with the family? The 98th Silver Wings Band will
                                      perform a concert series -- “Music Under the Alabama Stars” on 19 August.
                                      Come hear the band perform 20 minutes of patriotic music followed by a
                                      traditional Streamer Ceremony featuring re-enactors from the Wiregrass area,
                                      concluding with a rock concert. The event should last about 1 ½ hours, and is
                                      the CG’s way to say “thanks for your hard work.” Hope to see you there!

Childcare Now Available at Physical Fitness Center (PFC)
                       The “Kids on Site” facility is now operating at the Fort Rucker Physical Fitness Center.
                       Hours of operation are from 0800 – 1300 and 1400 – 1800 Monday – Friday. Children
                       ages 6 weeks to age 12 who are registered through Child Youth & School Services (CYSS)
                       are eligible to use the services. Parents must remain on site and the maximum length of
                       stay is two hours. Punch cards with 8 hours of childcare in 30 minute increments are
                       available at all CYSS locations, and the PFC at a cost of $32. For more information, call
                       Parent Central Registration at (334) 255-9638 or the PFC at (334) 255- 2296.

Get Involved, Volunteer!
Volunteering gives you a chance to change lives, besides your own. Now that
the kids are back in school and you have some “me time” why not considering
spending some of it volunteering in and around the Fort Rucker Community?

How do I get started? Stop by the Installation Volunteer Coordinator’s office (Bldg. 5700, Room 390) to get
registered. This is a really important step in volunteering. Registration provides you with benefits such as training
and recognition.

Where can I volunteer? Fort Rucker offers many opportunities for individuals to volunteer, and in various
capacities. Here are just a few:
              Thift Shop                                       Equestrian Center
              Vet Clinic                                       Schools on Fort Rucker
              American Red Cross at Lyster,                    Scouts
              Army Community Service (ACS)                     Coach sports/cheerleading
                                             And so much more!

Why volunteer? Volunteering allows you to learn or develop a new skill, be a part of the community, meet people,
receive a sense of accomplishment, create leadership, enhance career opportunities, assist with college scholarship
applications, and to have fun!
