1. In January 2015, The Pitti
Uomo, one of Florence’s
most recognised
contributors to men’s
fashion (with The Pitti
Immagine supporting on
a larger scale) unveiled
the MINI Gentleman’s
Collection in its 87th
annual event. Pitti Uomo’s
partnership with MINI
marks an important
milestone for the
automobile legend, with
several products sharing
the same mentality and
- on a grander scale - are
inspired by the new MINI
Clubman. At the 87th
Pitti Uomo, shoemaker
Alberto Premi (1) was
voted the most talented
young designer, with
his remarkable use of
unconventional colouring
and unique attention
to detail in his shoes.
Naturally, sunglasses are
a must-have in Florence,
so TYG (2) crafted
premium sunglasses from
hand-finished materials
and Carl Zeiss lenses,
with the brushed metal
and minimalist design
partnering perfectly
with Paola Bottai’s (3)
gentlemen’s fragrance.
“Classy cosmopolitan
and a little mysterious” is
how Bottai describes it, a
specialist in male fragrance
and a revered Insitute of
Pefumery alumna. The
appropriately-named
SuperDuper (4) also
features in the capsule
collection, showcasing
its ‘gentleman’s hat’, an
apt representation of true
Italian design, made with
an inner band inspired
by the MINI Clubman’s
premium upholstery.
The gentleman’s shaving
kit by Proraso (5) also
offers a welcome nod to
the attention to detail
that finds itself within the
MINI Clubman.
It’s the
small
things
To mark the 87th
Pitti Uomo, MINI
collaborated with
six young Italian
designers to
create the MINI
Capsule Collection

CLUB
MASTERMeet the all-new next generation MINI Clubman. Sleeker, more slender
and - suprisingly - sexier than ever before, the six-door Clubman is a true pack leader
The swinging Sixties are in the rear-view mirror
and those “bloody doors” are truely blown off in
preperation for the MINI Clubman’s entrance. No
longer will you find yourself ‘packing creatively’ to
maximise a traditional MINI’s spacial efficiency, nor
will you be confined to the limits of a city
hatchback. To reduce MINI’s latest release to
numbers wouldn’t do it justice either (although the
MINI Cooper S Clubman - pictured, opposite - does
have a top speed of 142 mph, a 1998cc engine and a
modest pricing of £22,755, so that does say a few
things), making the next step for MINI a special one.
On 17 September, it came in the form of the MINI
Clubman being unveiled in one of London’s most
celebrated neigbourhoods as part of the GQ Carnaby
Style Night. In a world exclusive, the six-door
Clubman fitted in effortlessly to its equally-stylish
(and classically British) surroundings, exhibiting the
compounds that lie beneath the Clubman’s ‘power-
domed’ bonnet: undeniable style, prestige and -
when taken literally - a four-cylinder petrol engine
with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology.
With true MINI panache, the Clubman’s silohuette
remains instantly recognisable, from the hexagonal
contours of the grille to the circular chrome
headlamps, while the interior brings the smaller
details to life and cements the Clubman’s designer
feel. The new MINI Your Interior Style options gives
the opportunity for the interior to be tailored to the
driver, whether through the personalised ambient
lighting in the cabin or the memory functionality of
the driver’s seat. The Sixties, this is not. mini.co.ukHero caption: Rmnias molestibus sanis maios minume et qui tecti ipsum quideni
