This study examined patients who had serious asthma-related events that required emergency care or hospitalization. The researchers found that despite receiving standard asthma treatments, these patients continued to experience poor asthma control and exacerbations. New approaches are needed to help patients gain better control of their asthma and reduce severe exacerbations that lead to emergency care utilization.
