Access is half the battle. What do you do when you get there? Follow these 10 tips and you'll be successful. Voters matter so it works better if you can engage with that in mind. Treat staffers with respect, no matter how young they may look. Trust me they have the member’s ear and trust. Finally, don't be afraid, engage early and be prepared. You’ve got to have a two-minute elevator speech ready and it’s always a good idea to have a one-page “leave behind” handy as well.
