•Set of guidelines or rules that
determine a course of action.

•Set of activities

PUBLIC POLICY
• consists of political decisions necessary for the
implementation of programs geared towards achieving
societal goals” (Chochran and Malone, 1995)
• -also refers to regulatory measures, laws, funding
priorities, or courses of action embodied in the
Constitution, legislative acts, and may be created by
means of executive order or local ordinance
PUBLIC POLICY
•process of formulating and enacting a program
based on set of principles
•- actions taken by government that are intended
to solve problems and/or improve the quality of
life of its citizens.
•-roadmap/framework within which government
actions are undertaken to achieve public goals
(Srivastava, 2017)
AIMS OF POLICY
• To protect individual rights
• -To foster cooperation by means of government influence
and encouragement
• -To thresh out issues/control conflict
• -To maximize resources
• -To provide direct benefits to citizens
• -To regulate State activities or to organize society
•-To guide government affairs
•-To collect revenue
