This icebreaker activity aims to get participants to openly discuss their feelings about an upcoming training program in a lighthearted way. Participants each select a picture - either animal pictures provided or their own - that best represents their current feelings or views on the training topic. They then introduce themselves and explain their choice, allowing the facilitator to identify common themes within the group and use them to guide discussion.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

1. Picture Me - Icebreaker
Duration:
10 - 20 Minutes
Objective:
This icebreaker is useful for getting participants to open up about their feelings
and discuss their thoughts about the training and what how they perceive it. The
icebreaker is also a light-hearted way of introducing participants.
Resources Needed:
Cut out the pictures provided below or create your own. It is best if you can print
these onto card. Of course you can supply your own pictures and they don’t have
to be animals, I just felt that way inclined today!
Instructions:
Place your pictures on a table in the room or pinned up on a board and ask
participants to each select a picture that best represents their feelings and/or
other significant issues regarding the training topic.
As each person introduces themselves, ask them to explain their thoughts behind
why they chose that particular picture and review their comments in turn. Where
you can, identify common issues that occur within the group and discuss them.
