This document presents a method for identifying and characterizing specializations within scientific literature. It uses a multi-step approach involving community detection on both paper contents and citation networks. In the first step, it identifies subfields within a domain like NLP by clustering papers with similar topics. The second step detects dense citation modules within a subfield to identify specializations. The final step characterizes each specialization based on its key papers, authors, and keywords. The method was tested on the ACL Anthology Network, identifying 8 specializations within the subfield of Lexical Analysis. Quantitative analysis showed the specializations were homogeneous in text, topics, and citation structure.
The document describes a service learning project at the Loch Haven Park Neighborhood Center. It provides details about the outdoor and indoor areas available at the center. It also notes there are 14 student participants and continues to part 2 of describing the project.
This presentation summarizes an approach for classifying research topics based on their momentum and recognition over time in a scientific literature. It uses topic modeling to identify topics in a corpus and two measures of paper recognition - PageRank and RALEX - to calculate topical recognition. Topics are then categorized into three types based on comparisons of their recognition measures over time: persistent topics with lasting recognition, withering topics becoming less recognized, and booming topics gaining recognition recently. The approach aims to provide insights into trends and the evolution of topics within a domain.

Women in targeted districts and IDP communities were trained as trainers to mobilize and select 285 beneficiary women for a three day training on topics like food processing and mobile card trades. The beneficiaries then received microgrants of $300 to start their own businesses in areas like grocery, vegetables, or photocopying to generate income and reduce costs through transportation subsidies. Information campaigns were also implemented to promote social cohesion.
The properties of nonwoven fabrics depend greatly on the choice of fibers, production technology, and bonding process used. This leads to a wide range in properties, from crisp to soft fabrics that can be either durable or disposable. The bonding agents are important as they bind the fibers together firmly to give the nonwoven fabric its wear properties. Nonwoven fabrics are defined as fabrics made from a combination of fibers and bonding agents.

This document defines Scrum as an iterative and incremental project delivery method used in Agile project management. It involves frequent feedback, collaborative decision making, and three pillars: transparency, inspection, and adaptation. The document then contrasts the traditional waterfall approach to process change/improvement projects with using a Scrum approach. With Scrum, small cross-functional teams focus on bottlenecks, document and execute improvements, track progress, and reconvene frequently to adapt. An example case study shows how applying Scrum to an inventory management problem led to documented process changes, improved accuracy and timeliness within months rather than waiting for a large-scale redesign.
The first principle of Agile manifesto says "Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software.” But, Is our highest priority to delight our customer, or to delight our sponsor. Do we understand who the real customer is and behave accordingly?
I’ve often seen Agile teams producing software aimed to delight: another departments within their organization, an external organization hiring their development services, their management or even their Product Owners. But, are those the ones to be delighted by the product in development?
I believe that software is awesome when it helps creating awesome experiences to the people the organization is serving. To create those delighting experiences is very important to understand who your real customer is and empathize with him. This session is aimed to create that awareness and to introduce some practical tools that can help creating a "Customer Centric” Agile implementation and culture in organizations.
