How you can help
2. Who we are
Clinicians of the World is a neutral and
nonpartisan global non-profit medical
humanitarian organization founded in
2010 by Dr. Rowlens M. Melduni, a car-
diologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester,
MN.
After the 7.0 magnitude earthquake
that devastated the country of Haiti in
2010, Dr. Melduni was one of the first
cardiologists on the ground at the main
University Hospital (HUEH) in Port-au-
prince. He spent several days working in
the makeshift Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
and Postoperative Unit at the University
Hospital in Port-au-prince without any
ICU monitors or equipment. That was
when Dr Melduni realized the urgent call
for an organization, such as Clinicians of
the World.
The mission of Clinicians of the World
is to provide specialized medical care,
health education and humanitarian aid
to underserved people around the world
regardless of culture, religion or political
affiliation.
Our philosophy is to foster not only heal-
th, but ultimately self-reliance by promo-
ting health awareness through education
and encouraging individuals to assume
responsibility for their own health.
Our vision is for a world where everyone
has access to heath care. We work to
improve health so that people can live
productive lives. We believe that everyo-
ne in this world deserves an opportunity
to live a healthy life.
What we do
Mission, Vision and Values
Provides specialty medical care to vic-
tims of natural disasters and other heal-
th emergencies using a coordinated
approach in collaboration with field part-
ners, government agencies and volun-
teers.
Ships containers of essential medicines
and medical supplies to hospitals and
clinics in impoverished countries, increa-
sing access and quality of health servi-
ces to underserved people.
Our Programs
Global Medical Relief
Health Education and
Specialty Training
We believe that the best solutions are
local. The Health Education and Spe-
cialty Training Program was created to
promote health awareness and encou-
rage individuals to assume responsibility
for their own health. Through free health
screenings and education and high-qua-
lity practical specialty training for medi-
cal professionals.
Although no longer a problem in most
developed countries, most kids in poor
countries have worms. Worm infections
cause health problems that both impair
children’s health physical and cogniti-
ve development and limit attendance
and performance in school, hampering
a child’s development and a chance at
brighter future.
Our Deworming Program involves:
1. Building Latrines in the community for
disposal of human waste.
2. Building deep-seated wells to provide
clean running water.
3. Treating children with one anti-helmin-
thic pill twice a year.
4. Distributing shoes to help prevent
reinfection.
5. Educating the community about sim-
ple hand-washing and cleanliness of
food.
Deworming
Dedicated to providing essential health
resources to underserved communities
who have little or no access to medical
care and who are less likely to have
contact with a health care provider. Em-
phasis is placed on: Health promotion
and prevention through health education
and medical screening services.
