The document analyzes co-inventor and co-author networks in the photocatalyst industry using social network analysis and finds that university-industry collaboration is mutually beneficial. Visualization of the networks shows the university at the core with heterogeneous private sector ties. Statistical analysis finds that collaboration positively impacts performance for both firms and academics, though the effect is slightly larger for publishing collaborations than patent collaborations for academics. Degree centrality has a mixed effect depending on the network.
