The University of Houston-Downtown secured approval to purchase a 17-acre parcel of land north of campus, expanding its footprint to around 40 acres. The additional land will allow for construction of a new Science and Technology Building and ensure space for future academic and student facilities. The purchase gives the university control of a contiguous 27-acre area and room to broaden its campus master plan for accommodating enrollment growth.
