7. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV
31 Therefore,
whether you
eat or drink, or whatever
you do, do all to the glory
of God.

9. *What is God’s glory?
(Review God’s Attributes)
*Why give God glory?
*How do we give God
glory?
*When do we give it?
10. Last time we discussed:
What is God’s glory?
http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4608071654639991&pid=1.7
11. We found that there are
two aspects to God’s glory.
One aspect is the glory
that He has in Himself.
His intrinsic glory.
13. Isaiah 6:3 NKJV
3 And one (seraph)
cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the
LORD of hosts;
The whole earth is full of
His glory!”
14. So God has intrinsic glory.
This is the glory of His
very nature.
What is this intrinsic
glory?
15. God’s intrinsic glory is the
manifestation of the
combination of
all of His attributes!
http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4568854308325254&pid=1.7
16. Since God's glory is the
combination of all of His
attributes, what are some
of those attributes?
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lwG1dbIuwrE/TV0fnBksLLI/AAAAAAAAFpc/oOkYJK1PSDo/s1600/attributes_of_god.gif
17. *What is God’s glory?
(Review God’s Attributes)
*Why give God glory?
*How do we give God
glory?
*When do we give it?
18. Romans 1:20 NKJV
20 For
since the creation of the
world His invisible
attributes are clearly seen,
being understood by the
things that are made, even
His eternal power.
19. Romans 1:16 NKJV
16 For
I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ, for it
is the power of God to
salvation for everyone
who believes …
21. We glorify God by
rehearsing His attributes.
http://www.amazingdoctrines.com/uploads/3/2/2/5/322557/38868.jpg?546
22. To glorify God is to extol
(to praise enthusiastically)
His attributes.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RJO6e0vadBs/TdU0QOd0iSI/AAAAAAAAACg/pU96d0Hn4do/s1600/3.jpg
23. Without the authority of the
Bible, any attempt to explain
God’s attributes would be no
better than a man’s opinion,
which by itself is often
incorrect, especially when it
comes o understanding God.
24. Job 42:7 NKJV
7 And so it was, after
the LORD had spoken these
words to Job, that
the LORD said to Eliphaz the
Temanite, “My wrath is
aroused against you and
your two friends,
26. For you have not spoken
of Me what is right, as My
servant Job has.”
Job 42:7 NKJV
27. God’s attribute: Holiness
Though all the attributes of
God are important and
dependent on one another, the
fact of God’s holiness seems to
be the one He wishes us to put
emphasis on the most.
29. This is the only attribute of
God that is repeated three
times in Scripture:
Holy, holy, holy! (Isa 6:3)
*Holy = holy
*Holy, holy = holier
*Holy, holy, holy = holiest
30. His love won’t trump His
holiness.
God will not set aside His
holiness even for His
mercy.
31. Because of God’s
attributes of righteousness
and justice, in order for
our sins to be forgiven,
Jesus had to experience
God's full wrath when our
sins were placed on Him.
33. God did not reduce the
penalty at all even though
it was His only Son Who
was paying the price.
*In fact, Isaiah 53:10 says
that “it pleased the Lord
to bruise Him”.
53. Transcendence God exists outside of
space and time.
http://blogs.blueletterbible.org/blb/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2011/08/transcendent.jpg
54. Isaiah 55:9 NKJV
9 “As the heavens are higher
than the earth, so are My
ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your
thoughts.
That is transcendence.
55. Immanence God is present within
space and time.
http://blogs.blueletterbible.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/attribute_immanent_2-545x288.jpg
56. “In Him (Jesus) all things
hold together” (Col 1:17).
That is God’s
immanence.

57. He is both “nearby” and
“far away,” according to
Jeremiah 23:23 23 “Am
I a God near at
hand,” says the LORD,
“And not a God afar off?
60. *First, God's glory is that
which is His intrinsic
nature, the sum of
His attributes.
*Second, there is a
glory which is given to
God by His creatures.
61. By enhancing His name,
by exalting His name,
by lifting up His name,
by praising His name,
by honoring His name,
we give Him glory in the
eyes of the world.
62. What does it mean to
give God glory?
It means to magnify His
glory before the world.
63. It's a question of your
testimony about Him.

64. God is not affected by the
way we live but the world
is affected by our living
testimony about God.
http://footsoldiers4christ.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/godlylife.jpg
65. Philippians 2:15b NKJV
15b …children of God
without fault in the midst
of a crooked and perverse
generation, among whom
you shine as lights in the
world,
66. *We are not adding to His
intrinsic nature.
*We are enhancing His
glory in the eyes of other
men.
*That is how we give
glory to God.
*But why?
67. *What is God’s glory?
(Review God’s Attributes)
*Why give God glory?
*How do we give God
glory?
*When do we give it?
68. Psalm 100:3 NKJV
3 Know that the LORD,
He is God;
It is He Who has made us,
and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the
sheep of His pasture.
73. *He created us so that we
would give Him the
glory only He deserves.
*How could we possibly
give glory to any other
god or any other source?
74. God does not want us to
give His glory to another
because there is no other.
75. Isaiah 46:5 NKJV
5 “To
whom will you liken
Me, and make Me equal
And compare Me, that we
should be alike?
76. 1 Kings 8:23 NIV
23 O
LORD, God of Israel,
there is no God like You
in heaven above or on
earth below—You Who
keep Your covenant of
77. love with Your servants
who continue
wholeheartedly in Your
way.
1 Kings 8:23 NIV
78. If we did give glory to
some one or some thing
other than God, that
would be foolish - not in
our best interest.
God wants the best for us.
79. In Col 1:16 it says of Jesus,
"All things were created
through Him and for
Him."

80. He made everything to
bespeak His glory.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3bwu6qA0BdM/UW5aUUohxPI/AAAAAAAAAQA/gw9IUy0hYNA/s1600/madetopraise.jpg
81. *Everything is to radiate
His attributes, to show
His power, to show His
love, to show His mercy,
to show His wisdom,
to show His grace.
*Everything!
82. Let All Things Praise
the LORD
Psalm 150:1-2, 6 NKJV
1 Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty
firmament!
83. 2 Praise
Him for His
mighty acts;
Praise Him according to
His excellent greatness!
6 Let everything that has
breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!
Psalm 150:1-2, 6 NKJV
85. The trees clap their hands
and even the rocks can cry
out!
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l9epx_nhigE/UMTDVRliFjI/AAAAAAAABMM/c-z1hkHLpIw/s1600/Stones-lo-res.jpg
86. Isaiah 55:12b NKJV
12b The mountains and the
hills shall break forth into
singing before you,
And all the trees of the
field shall clap their
hands.
87. Luke 19:40 NLKV
40 But He answered and
said to them, “I tell you
that if these (disciples of
Mine) should keep silent,
the stones would
immediately cry out.”
91. They may not want to
give God glory, but they
will, even if they don't
choose to.
They'll just give Him
glory unwillingly.
92. He gets glory out of
everything and everyone
sooner or
later.
http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.5063527158188350&pid=1.7
93. Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV
10 that
at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, of
those in heaven, and of
those on earth, and of
those under the earth,
94. 11 and
that every tongue
should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory
of God the Father.
Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV
95. He will get the glory!
This goes way, way back –
Satan wanted that which
rightly belonged only to
God – God’s glory.
96. Satan fell because of his
insatiable desire for the
glory which belongs only
to God.
Isaiah 14:12-14 and
Ezekiel 28:15-17
97. The Fall of Lucifer
Isaiah 14:12-14 NKJV
12 “How
you are fallen
from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the
morning!
98. 13 For
you have said in
your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne
above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount
of the congregation
99. On the farthest sides of
the north;
14 I will ascend above the
heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most
High.’
Isaiah 14:12-14 NKJV
100. Ezekiel 28:15-17 NKJV
15 You
were perfect in your
ways from the day you
were created,
Till iniquity was found in
you.
101. 16 By
the abundance of
your trading
You became filled with
violence within,
And you sinned;
Therefore I cast you as a
profane thing
102. Out of the mountain of
God;
And I destroyed you, O
covering cherub,
From the midst of the
fiery stones.
103. 17 Your
heart was lifted up
because of your beauty;
You corrupted your
wisdom for the sake of
your splendor;
I cast you to the ground.
Ezekiel 28:12-17 NKJV
104. Satan wanted the glory
and later he even tempted
Jesus by offering Him the
kingdoms of the world
and their glory if Jesus
would fall down and
worship him.
109. Prior to the creation of
man, God did not allow
Satan to rob Him of His
glory and then we see in
the OT how God would
not allow Pharaoh to get
any of His glory either.
110. Exodus 14:17b-18 NKJV
17b So
I will gain honor
over Pharaoh and over all
his army, his chariots, and
his horsemen.
111. 18 Then
the Egyptians shall
know that I am the LORD,
when I have gained honor
for Myself over Pharaoh,
his chariots, and his
horsemen.”
Exodus 14:17b-18 NKJV
112. *God said He would get
the glory and He got it!
*And He will get it.
*He'll get it without
exception.
*The whole Bible bears
out that message.
113. Is it possible to steal God’s
glory? Absolutely not!
“I will not give My glory
to another.”
Isaiah 48:11 & Isaiah 42:8
115. *Everybody gets to the
place where they give
God glory, willingly or
unwillingly.
*Wittingly or unwittingly.
*But God especially gets
glory from the righteous.
116. The righteous willingly
give Him glory and that
pleases Him!
That is one reason He
created people with a
free will.
117. Isaiah 43:20-21 NKJV
20 The beast of the field will
honor Me,
The jackals and the
ostriches,
Because I give waters in
the wilderness
118. And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My people,
My chosen.
21 This people I have formed
for Myself;
They shall declare My
praise.
Isaiah 43:20-21 NKJV
119. 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV
9 But you are a chosen
generation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people,
that you may proclaim the
praises of Him Who called
120. you out of darkness into
His marvelous light;
1 Peter 2:9 NKJV
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2sWjxcyFnRM/T0mPlTRwq1I/AAAAAAAAF4s/GtuBvHOXBgI/s400/marvelous+light.bmp
121. We are His righteous
people willingly declaring
His praise because:
1) He made us
2) He made us to give
Himself glory,
3) He'll get it anyway.
122. We might as well give it
willingly, because when
we give it willingly, the
result is:
“Therefore My heart is
glad.”
Psalm 16:9a NKJV
123. Psalm 16:7-9a NKJV
7I
will bless the LORD Who
has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in
the night seasons.
124. 8I
have set the LORD
always before me;
Because He is at my right
hand I shall not be moved.
9a Therefore my heart is
glad, and my glory
rejoices;
Psalms 16:7-9a NKJV
125. When you willingly give
God glory, you are
rewarded with joy!
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zotV4ZpTIJ8/TYKL2FISS_I/AAAAAAAAA9k/kewtbzz3fJU/s1600/joyoftheLord.jpg
126. *We also ought to give
God glory because He
judges those who don't
willfully give Him glory.
*The ones who take God’s
judgment lightly will
miss the boat!
130. Romans 1:21 NKJV
21 although they knew God,
they did not glorify Him as
God, nor were thankful, but
became futile in their
thoughts, and their foolish
hearts were darkened.
Romans 1:21 NKJV
131. Romans 1:24-28 NKJV
24 Therefore
God also gave
them up to uncleanness,
in the lusts of their hearts,
to dishonor their bodies
among themselves,
132. 25 who
exchanged the
truth of God for the lie,
and worshiped and
served the creature rather
than the Creator, Who is
blessed forever. Amen.
133. 26 For
this reason God
gave them up to vile
passions. For even their
women exchanged the
natural use for what is
against nature.
134. 27 Likewise
also the men,
leaving the natural use of
the woman, burned in
their lust for one another,
men with men
committing what is
shameful, and receiving in
135. themselves the penalty of
their error which was due.
http://bibleoutlines.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/wrath-of-god.jpg
136. 28 And
even as they did not
like to retain God
in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a debased
mind, to do those things
which are not fitting;
Romans 1:24-28 NKJV
137. Either give God the glory
He demands and deserves
or face God’s wrath!
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vbrPU5iBSEc/TtPTQ3-IafI/AAAAAAAAASw/IJTejU_vIaU/s1600/boy-worshipping1.jpg
138. Romans 1:18 NKJV
18 For the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of
men, who suppress the
truth in unrighteousness.
140. Revelation 14:6-7 NKJV
6 Then
I saw another angel
flying in the midst of
heaven, having the
everlasting gospel to
preach to those who dwell
141. on the earth—to every
nation, tribe, tongue, and
people—
7 saying with a loud voice,
“Fear God and give glory
to Him, for the hour of
His judgment has come;
142. and worship Him Who
made heaven and earth,
the sea and springs of
water.”
Revelation 14:6-7 NKJV
143. *What is the everlasting
Gospel?
*It's the Gospel of
judgment against those
who fail to give God
glory, against unbelief or
against ungodliness.
144. This is not the Gospel as
we know it simply
defined in Christ.
It's much broader.
145. It's the everlasting Gospel,
the News of God that runs
throughout time and
eternity that God
punishes the wicked and
He rewards the righteous.
147. Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
6 But
without faith it is
impossible to please Him, for
he who comes to God must
believe that He is, and
that He is a rewarder of those
who diligently seek Him.
148. “For the hour of His
Judgment has come.”
(Revelation 14:7)
*What a shocking and a
powerful statement that
is.
"Give God glory because
judgment is coming!"
150. A matter of perspective:
