REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
REGULAR SESSION
At 7:10 P.M. on Monday, October 12, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the Paoli Community School Corporation
met in Regular Session. The following Board members were present:
Bill McDonald, President;
Julie Hopper, Secretary;
Chris Boyer, Vice-President;
Peggy Manship, Member;
Gary Owens, Member;
Kathy Padgett, Member; and
Lila Tucker, Member.
Also present were: “Casey” Brewster (Superintendent), Todd Hitchcock (Senior High School Principal), Kyle
Neukam (Junior-Senior High School Assistant Principal, Wesley Whitfield (Junior High Principal), Janalyn
VanEmon (Elementary School Principal), Amanda Crews (Elementary School Assistant Principal), Larry
Hollan (Director of Improvement, Assessment and Title I); and Julie Osborn (Corporation Treasurer).
Mrs. Padgett made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 1, 2015, Special Regular School Board
Meeting; September 14, 2015, Regular School Board Meeting; and September 24, 2015, Special Regular School
Board Meeting as written. Mr. Boyer seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7
“Yes”, 0 “No”).
Mr. Owens made a motion to approve the vouchers and payroll registers as presented. Mrs. Manship seconded
the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”).
Mr. Brewster presented the monthly financial report for September, 2015. A copy of said report is attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Mrs. Apple and fifth grade students made a presentation.
Mr. Boyer made a motion to adopt the 2016 General Fund, Debt Service Fund, Capital Projects Fund,
Transportation Operating Fund, School Bus Replacement Fund, and Rainy Day Fund budgets and tax rates. Mr.
Owens seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”). A copy of
said form is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Mrs. Tucker made a motion to approve a Resolution to Adopt the 2016 Capital Projects Plan for the Years
2016, 2017, and 2018, as required under IC 20-46-6-5. Mr. Boyer seconded the motion. All voted in the
affirmative. The motion passed (7“Yes”, 0 “No”). A copy of said resolution is attached hereto and made a part
of these minutes.
Mr. Boyer made a motion to approve publishing the Notice of Adoption indicating that Board of School
Trustees has established a Capital Projects Fund and adopted a plan under IC 20-46-6-5 for the years 2016,
2017, and 2018. Mr. Owens seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0
“No”). A copy of said notice is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.

Mr. Boyer made a motion to approve a Resolution to Adopt the 2016 School Bus Replacement Plan for the
Years 2016 Through 2027 as required under IC 20-46-5. Mr. Owens seconded the motion. All voted in the
affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”). A copy of said resolution is attached hereto and made a part
of these minutes.
Mrs. Padgett made a motion to approve a Resolution to Adopt the 2015 School Bus Replacement Plan
AMENDMENT. Mr. Boyer seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0
“No”). A copy of said resolution is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Discussed Anti-Bullying Policy. Mr. Owens made a motion to adopt the Anti-Bullying Policy. Mrs. Manship
seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”). A copy of said
policy is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
The Board will review the Athletic Policy and Student Code of Conduct before adoption.
Mr. Boyer made a motion to adopt a Joint Resolution Concerning Casino Revenue. Mrs. Tucker seconded the
motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”). A copy of said resolution is
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Building principals: Mrs. Van Emon, Mr. Hitchcock, and Mr. Whitfield gave reports.
Mr. Hollan gave District Improvement Report.
Mr. Brewster informed the Board that on September 8, 2015, he terminated Natalie Matthews as cafeteria
employee at Paoli High School, effective September 8, 2015.
Mr. Brewster informed the Board that on October 7, 2015, he accepted Duane Higgs’ resignation as Head
Varsity Baseball Coach, effective immediately.
Mr. Owens made a motion to approve employing the following for the 2015-2016 school year:
1. Sam Hadley as Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach;
2. Brad Warren as Head Junior High Wrestling Coach;
3. Lora Laswell as Assistant Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach;
4. Steve Lawson as Junior Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach;
5. Donavan Crews as Freshman/C Team Girls’ Basketball Coach;
6. Brian Kloss as 8th
Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach;
7. Sara Harkness as 7th
Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach;
8. Joby Stephenson as 6th Grade Boys’ Basketball Coach;
9. Eli Cook as 5th Grade Boys’ Basketball Coach;
10. Zach Patton as 7th
Grade Boys’ Basketball Coach;
11. Mike Smith as 8th
Grade Boys’ Basketball Coach;
12. Jeremy Payton as Freshman/C Team Boys’ Basketball Coach;
13. Scott Blankenbaker as Junior Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach;
14. Jerry Stroud as Assistant Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach;
15. Logan Laswell as Volunteer Boys’ Basketball Coach;
16. David Laswell as Volunteer Boys’ Basketball Coach; and
17. Buford Dewitt as Volunteer Boys’ Basketball Coach.
Mrs. Manship seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”).

Mr. Owens made a motion to approve employing Jason Parks as bus driver for P-22 town route in the
afternoons, effective September 28, 2015 and Darrell Newkirk continuing as bus driver for the route in the
mornings. Mrs. Hopper seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0
“No”).
Mrs. Tucker made a motion to approve employing Mike Ramsey as night-shift custodian at Paoli High School
at the rate of $10.00 per hour, effective October 12, 2015. Mrs. Hopper seconded the motion. All voted in the
affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”).
Mrs. Tucker made a motion to approve employing Tina Engleking on a Teacher’s Temporary Contract after she
has substitute taught fifteen (15) consecutive days for Erin Miller, fourth grade teacher, who will be on
maternity leave on or around November 30, 2015. Mrs. Manship seconded the motion. All voted in the
affirmative. The motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”).
Received information on Corporation Wellness Program.
Mr. Boyer made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Manship seconded the motion. All voted in the affirmative. The
motion passed (7 “Yes”, 0 “No”).

PAOLI COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION BOARD OF SCHOOL TRUSTEES October 12, 2015 REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING REGULAR SESSION At 7:10 P.M. on Monday, October 12, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the Paoli Community School Corporation met in Regular Session. The following Board members were present: Bill McDonald, President; Julie Hopper, Secretary; Chris Boyer, Vice-President; Peggy Manship, Member; Gary Owens, Member; Kathy Padgett, Member; and Lila Tucker, Member. Also present were: “Casey” Brewster (Superintendent), Todd Hitchcock (Senior High School Principal), Kyle Neukam (Junior-Senior High School Assistant Principal, Wesley Whitfield (Junior High Principal), Janalyn VanEmon (Elementary School Principal), Amanda Crews (Elementary School Assistant Principal), Larry Hollan (Director of Improvement, Assessment and Title I); and Julie Osborn (Corporation Treasurer).
