  2. 2. His life <ul><li>His original name was Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, he was a British politician known for his leadership of the United Kingdom during world War II. He was born on November 30th 1874 inWoodstock , England. He served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. A noted statisman and orator, Churchill was also an afficer in the British Army a historical writer, and an artist. He won the Literature Nobel award in 1953 </li></ul><ul><li>As the forefront of the political scence for almort sixty years , he held many political and cabinet positions. Before the First World War , he served as President of the Board of Trade , Home Secretary and First Lord of the Admiralty as part of the Asquith Liberal government . In May 10th of 1990, he become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. After losing the 1945 election, In 1951, he again became Prime Minister before finally retiring in 1955. </li></ul><ul><li>He died on January 24th 1965, at the aged of 90, in Kylde Park , England. </li></ul>

  4. 4. His family <ul><li>He was a descendant of the famous Spencer family. His father was Lord Randolph Churchill, his mother was Lady Randolph Churchill. Churchill had one brother, John Strange Spencer-Churchill. Churchill met his future wife, Clementine Hozier, in 1904 at a ball in Crewe House.Their first child, Diana, was born in London on 11 July 1909. On 28 May 1911, their second child, Randolph, was born in 33 Eccleston Square. Their third child, Sarah, was born on 7 October 1914 at Admiralty House. Clementine gave birth to her fourth child, Marigold Frances Churchill, on 15 November 1918. On September 15, 1922, the Churchills' last child was born, Mary. </li></ul>
