BLUE CAMAS
BLUE CAMAS – Herbal Traditions Use of plants for health and healing: Native Americans believe plants have energy and spirit. Historically, Plateau tribes gathered & used over 130 different wild plants. Estimated 40% to 60% of calories came from gathered plant foods. One of the most important root crops for the Plateau tribes was camas. In some places in the Northwest, camas was so common that non-Indian travelers would mistake the plant's blue flowers for “distant lakes”. Camas is very high in protein: 5.4 ounces of protein per pound of roots. Camas was dug up using digging sticks made from elk antlers. Men gathered the wood for the roasting ovens BUT not allowed near the roasting pits for fear the camas would not be roasted properly. Once roasted camas is dried and can be preserved for many years. Some American explorers report eating camas that had been prepared 36 years earlier.
BLUE CAMAS – Kalispel Tribe From the tribes webpage “Kalispel Indians or ‘River/Lake paddlers’ as they were called by other tribes, or ‘camas people,’ as Kalispel is translated in English…” Camas is a symbol is sustainability for the Kalispel Tribe. As the ‘Camas People’ – we assume this important critical root helped the people “sustain” during challenging winter months. Kalispel Tribe developed the Camas Institute for Wellness: Camas Center: is a center for the promotion of health and is part of the Kalispel Tribe’s vision for improving the standard of living among tribal members. Camas Path: is the fulfillment of the Kalispel Tribe's vision of education, employment, and community involvement; it encourages individual development which creates healthy communities.
BLUE CAMAS – Signature Blend Create a Native American inspired amenity collection for Northern Quest Resort Casino anchored in: Authenticity – cultural sharing. Honoring original medicine (plants) of the Kalispel “Camas People” Tribe. Traditional Native American practice of “gifting”: a unique and authentic gift to NQRC valued guests.

Paraben and lanolin free and are made of biodegradable formulas. Eco-friendly packaging includes recyclable bottles and caps. Easy to squeeze bottle with flip-top cap for ease of dispensing product.
