4. Project 1
HURALE (1)
Hurale is a small and isolated village, in the north of Seram.
There is no paved road to Hurale, it takes a 2-3 hours drive
from harbourcity Amahai. There is no school for the children,
they have to walk for 1 hour through the forest to another
village.
5. Project 1
HURALE (2)
To be able to go to school the children need a school uniform.
The costs of a uniform is a very difficult investment for the
families, who have to struggle for their daily life.
The gift of a school uniform to a child, means a chance for
education, for a better future.
6. Project 2
MASI HULANG
Masi Hulang is a fishing village, the people mainly live from what
the sea gives them. The village is very hard to reach (4-5 hours
drive from Amahai), there is no good road, that’s why the
village is very isolated. Many of the houses have sandy floors,
and the roofs are made of sago leaves. These houses don’t
protect well against the rain.
Masi Hulang has a school, but the facilities are
very poor. There is hardly any furniture, so the
schoolchildren have to bring their own chair
every day from home! The school would be really
helped with tables and chairs. The furniture can
be ordered at a carpenter, who makes it from
wood.
