The document describes a volunteering opportunity for doctors called "Doctor-at-School" run by the non-profit Doctors for Seva. It involves screening children in nearby government schools for 2-4 hours once or twice a week and follow up consultations. In the previous year, 45 doctors and 300 non-medical volunteers screened over 8,800 children across 50 schools. The program is flexible and gives doctors exposure to different cases while directly helping underserved children. It highlights several doctors who volunteered their time consistently over long periods to screen hundreds of students despite their busy schedules.

8. Dr. Sangeetha Swaminathan , Pediatrician
When commitment rules…
Every Tuesday, the students of Geddalahalli Govt. School would wait
outside a particular classroom, somewhat unsure of what will
happen next. Once inside the room, however, their apprehensions
would vanish with the kind gaze and encouraging words of Dr.
Sangeetha, a Paediatrician who has not missed a single working
Tuesday in the entire academic year 2012-13 to volunteer at the
school.
She has volunteered on at least 22 days and around 44 hours of her
skill and expertise has been made available to around 380
children, despite having to run her own private practise at her clinic
in R.T Nagar…
9. Dr. Jyothi Lakshmi, General Physician
Doing more than her bit…
When we first met Dr. Jyothi, a General Physician, she
enthusiastically agreed to volunteer and we mapped her to one
govt. school in Gubbalala. However, by the end of the year, Dr.
Jyothi inspired us all by screening and treating around 580 children
from 3 government schools near Konankunte.
She is not new to social work, and for her, such service is part of her
life and personality. She often goes out of her way to help needy
children by sponsoring medicines & extends her service free of cost
at her clinic for any child from the schools where she is mapped. She
has volunteered on nearly 15 days and about 45 hours…
10. Dr. Mohan chose to volunteer continuously
in each school until he completed the
screening over a period of 2-4
weeks, dedicating around 24 hours to
voluntary service. Despite having to travel
around 4kms to be at the schools, Dr.
Mohan is never one to complain, ask for
assistance or expect any form of
appreciation or recognition for his service…
Dr. Mohan, Pediatrician
Where there is a will, there is a way…
With a soft-toy hanging from his stethoscope and a charming way of
engaging children, Dr.Mohan, a Paediatrician, ensured that around 268
children from the Hosahalli Govt. school and Attiguppe Govt. school
received quality healthcare.
11. Dr. Harsha J.N, General Physician
No time to be busy…
It was much later when we found out that Dr. Harsha, a General
Physician, who volunteered once a week at Konanakunte school, is
an extremely busy person, who undertakes night duty at various
hospitals, runs his own clinic and still takes time out to volunteer at
the nearby school in the morning!
He made sure that nearly 350 children from this school have access
to free, quality medical care through his service. He has volunteered
on about 11 days, and nearly 20 hours, despite his hectic schedule…
