The land of Punjab, which is described as the land of Gurus, Pirs and the Warriors, as a matter of faith believes in earning honest living through hard labor and in sharing the fruits of this labor with others, without expecting any returns. Hospitality is a living aspect of Punjabi culture, which is shown even to the migratory birds that sojourn here.

3. CHALLENGES AND PROBLEMS
There is no sign board suggesting directions to the
tourist offices located nearby in Amritsar city.
In Wagah Border there is no proper management
for Tourist and that destination is even not able to
handle huge crowd at the same time.
Lack of foresightedness and coordination among
various government departments reflect as there is
inadequate or unmanaged parking lots around key
tourist places and at popular residential areas of
tourists.
4. SUGGESTIONS/ SOLUTION
There should be proper solid disposal system so that the
huge amount of city’s garbage will be able to place outside
the city circumference.
In Wagah Border premises there may be an amusement park
which will help to hold the tourist for long time and lead to
economical benefits to locals and generate more
employment.
In Wagah Border there should be outlets for shopping
activities and restaurants for evening snacks etc.

9. DURGIANA TEMPLE
It is also known by other names of Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Durga
Tirath and Sitla Mandir, is a premier Hindu temple of Punjab (India) situated in the city
of Amritsar. Though a Hindu temple, its architecture is similar to the Golden
Temple of Sikh religion.
This temple derives its name from the Goddess Durga, the chief Goddess deified
and worshipped here. Idols of Goddess Laksmi (goddess of wealth) and Vishnu (the
protector of the world) are also deifiedhere and worshipped.

15. GOLDEN TEMPLE
A pilgrimage to the Golden Temple is a must for any Sikh or a believer of
humanity and God. This is the most sacred shrine of the Sikhs and is in the town of
Amritsar founded by Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh Guru.
The temple was built by Guru Arjun Dev and the great Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh
embellished the shrine and covered the domes with gold. The temple is in middle of the
holy tank called the Pool of Immortality dug up by Guru Ram Das.

17. JALIANWALA BAGH
A historical monument that tells the sad story of mass killing during the
independence movement in India, Jalianwallah Bagh is another must-visit in
Amritsar. Here lies the memorial of the martyrs of the 1919 massacre by British
General Dyer.
Presently the place also has a park. The Martyr's Gallery is open from 9 am to
5 pm in summers and from 10 am to 4 pm during winters.
