The drafting of the U.S. Constitution began on 5/25/1787 when the Constitutional Convention met for the first time in Pennsylvania. The Convention ended on 9/17/1787. The Constitution was made of seven articles, twenty-seven amendments, and the major Principles of Government embodied in the Constitution. It is signed eleven years after the Declaration of Independence. It is not one of the founding documents of America. This important document guaranteed basic rights for every citizen. One of the most remembered amendments is the thirteenth due to the abolish of slavery.

Now that you have gone through the research, what have you
learned about your topic in one to two paragraphs?
The Constitution of the United States is the highest law of the
United States of America. The Constitution originally made up
of seven articles. The first three articles discuss the separation
of powers. Articles four, five, and six entails concepts of
federalism. The seventh article established the procedure used
by the thirteen states to Ratify it. Since the constitution came
into force in 1789, it has been amended twenty-seven times. The
first ten amendments are known as the Bill of Rights. While the
next seven are known as the civil rights. The Constitution was
4. the first of its kind and has influenced the constitution of other
nations.
