- - Core of product management - What is the value of solving the problem - Compelling solution - No customers? You have a target segment, do customer interviews etc - Most solving for a known need - need to understand that problem & come up with a compelling solution & test
- - Product management isn't project management - Its a non-linear cycle - learnings impact requirements, roadmaps, priorities - Difference between waterfall and iterative is how quickly feedback can change things
- - Roadmapping communicates areas of focus that will achieve the vision - Avoid dates on roadmaps - Multiple methods of prioritisation - All use same data * customer feedback * analytics * business objectives - Don't be driven by sales - Look for trends in feedback & solve the underlying issue - MVF for real unknowns - minimise what you need to build to learn whether you have a compelling solution
