- 2. When Gratitude calls, we are being asked
to give thanks to all aspects of life,
not just the good bits.
Remember, as with anything in life, take what works for you and discard the
rest. Practices have no power if they are not aligned with who we are, so if
something doesn’t feel right, it’s likely not the practice for you. Implementing
a combination, or even just one of the practices below, is sure to open space for
Gratitude to flourish and expand in your life.
Surround yourself with visual reminders of Gratitude - this can even be
as as simple as writing the word Gratitude on a piece of paper and
displaying it in a prominent spot. Every time you look at it, you naturally
call upon its energy.
Take a moment to get still and centered and think about how you feel
when there is Gratitude in your life. Close your eyes and conjure those
moments of pure, lovely Gratitude, and focus on how you feel
in those moments.
Create a private board in Pinterest devoted to Gratitude. You’ll be
amazed at all the wonderful pins you will find when you search on the
word Gratitude. Pin those that most resonate with you, and whenever
you are needing to ground yourself in Gratitude, you can open your
Pinterest account and go through your Gratitude inspirations.
Throughout your day, repeat to yourself “Gratitude”, and if you are
able, place your hand over your heart while you say it.
Do some journaling - ask yourself “What does Gratitude mean to me?”
and “How can I bring more Gratitude into my life?”

When you awaken in the morning, create an intention around Gratitude.
Say to yourself “I am open and willing to give and receive
Gratitude today.”
Set some alarms on your phone to go off throughout the day. Every time
the alarm goes off, stop what you are doing and turn your attention to
Gratitude. You could just keep saying Gratitude over and over in your
mind, or you could reflect upon a recent feeling of Gratitude and let it fill
you up.
If you enjoy getting creative, try this simple little Gratitude experiment.
Grab a piece of paper and some crayons and keep writing the word
Gratitude over and over again filling the page. Keep writing Gratitude
in different colours, in all CAPS, printed, cursive, turn your page all around,
and fill your piece of paper with so many Gratitudes, that it becomes
difficult to make out the word. This creative process keeps you focused and
intent on Gratitude.
In your quiet moments where you want to wind down, why not watch a
movie that highlights Gratitude in its plot? Surrounding our senses with
the intention we wish to invoke is a powerful way to invite more of it into
our lives.
Watch and observe how others bring Gratitude into the world. Notice
what they do, how they behave, what they say. Be a Gratitude detective
and grow in your capacity to see Gratitude in action.
