3. Intro to Global Warming
Let’s start with the first set of slides

4. “ Climate change is real. It is
happening right now & it is the
most urgent threat facing
our species right now.
Leonardio Dicaprio

5. Global Warming
An increase in the earth’s atmospheric temperature that
causes corresponding changes in climate and that may
result from the green house effect.
5
6. Causes
• Green House Gases ( Carbon dioxide, Hydrofluorocarbons etc)
• Aerosols (Chlorofluorocarbon)
• Consumption of Fossil Fuels ( Used in vehicles, factories etc)
7. 7
Green House
Concept
● The green house effect is when the
temperature rises because the sun’s heat
and light is trapped inside Earth’s
atmosphere.
● The light and heat can enter Earth’s
atmosphere but can’t get out.
8. Importance:
8
• Green house gases are also very important
because they make Earth appropriate to live
on.
• Without Green house gases, the Earth would
froze, and no life would exist.
Because at night, the Earth would froze and as
no gases will be available inside Earth’s
atmosphere.
9. Aerosols
9
• Aerosols spray cans can influence climate by emitting,
Chlorofluorocarbon.
• These Chlorofluorocarbon, are broken down by sunlight,
which in return depletes the ozone layer.
10. Consumption of
Fossil Fuel.
10
• Consumption of fossil fuel whether it be in the form of vehicles using it or factories
using is to run themselves.
• When fossil fuel is burned it produces nitrogen oxides and carbon compounds.
11. Effects
Like everything in this World, Every cause has an effect.
The effects of Global Warming are far too greater to be
discussed all together that’s why we will discuss some of
main effects it has on Earth’s environment and it’s inhabitants.
12. Rising Temperatures
12
• Due a significant increase in Earth’s
Temperature in the recent years, term like
“Heat Wave” is becoming more common.
• People all around the world are experiencing
extreme weathers.
• Record high temperatures are measured in
both hot and cold climates in the recent
years.
13. Ozone Depletion
13
• Due a significant increase in
use of Chlorofluorocarbon
which in turn depletes Ozone
layers surrounding the world.
Which protects the world from
UV rays.
14. Glaciers & Sea Level
14
• Due a significant increase in Earth’s Temperature Glaciers are also having an
effect, and as a result Glaciers are melting, which also means low living space
for polar bears and increased sea level, which also result in floods.
Glaciers melting Flood Increased Sea Level
15. Damage to Inhabitants
15
• Due a significant increase in
Global Warming, Earth’s
inhabitants whether it be
Humans, Aquatic Animals or
Birds. All are severely affected
by climate change. Every year
new diseases are found, and
the list is never ending.
16. Solutions
Like everything in this World, Every cause has an effect.
The effects of Global Warming are far too greater to be
discussed all together that’s why we will discuss some of
main effects it has on Earth’s environment and it’s inhabitants.
18. 18
Use Renewable Energy
We should convert to renewable
energy sources like getting power
from;
Solar Power
Wind Power
Nuclear Power
19. 19
Stop Plastic Bag &
Reduce Carbon Footprint
Plastic bags are very bad for the environment too.
All the plastic waste is either dumped in the ocean or
In less developed countries, it is burned, which also plays
A role in polluting the environment.
On the other hand, we also need to increase using more
And more eco-friendly products.
