14. FAQ: Will it Leak?
The door seal expands against the tub wall with
increased water pressure. The deeper the water, the
stronger the seal.
The seal is an automotive grade urethane that is
chemical, uv, and abrasion resistant. It has been
tested and certified as exceeding IAPMO and ASME
standards.
Similar seals are used for front-loading washing
machines.
15. FAQs: Can I get it without the base?
Yes, however the elevated design allows a person to
get in and out of the tub independently using the
same movement that they would getting in and out
of a bed. You do not need to use your legs using a
wheelchair. By lowering the tub to floor height, you
take away much of the accessibility.
The elevated design improves access for assisted
bathing and better ergonomics for healthcare
workers.
The base can be built on site at a custom height.
16. FAQs: Won’t I stick to the bottom of
the tub?
The smooth surface of the tub floor is designed to
allow the bather to slide back into the tub.
For bathers with skin shearing concerns or lack of
shoulder/arm strength, simply wet the bottom of the
tub and/or use a bit of soapy water to make it very
easy to slide into the tub.
When a person slides back into the tub, they do not
need to bend their knees or push with their legs.
18. Competition: Rane Tubs
Similar pricing to Aquassure ADL
Similar fixtures to the Basic System but not as high-flow.
Outward Swinging door is impossible to close from
within tub due to unsafe reach by bather.
Door cannot be closed without moving equipment,
such as wheelchairs or walkers
out of the way.
Door swing requires a lot of floor
space and clearance.
Large one-piece bathtub is difficult to
get through doors and hallways
for installation (60 x 32 x 42”)
19. Competition: Kohler Rising Wall
The Kohler Rising Wall Tub does not accommodate a rolling
lift.
Door requires power to open and close
Overall dimensions are very large so they
are difficult to get into the bathroom for
renovation (60.25 x 33.5 x 39.25”)
More expensive option starting at
$12750 CDN Plus fixtures, hydrotherapy
and UPS.
