Proposal
Producer(s): Shania Jayawardena Production Title: Documentary
Brief: To make an opening extract of an original documentary
Aim:
To create an opening extract for a documentary that aims to educate its audiences about
the relationship between humans and animals and how culture affects this relationship. I
will be going to Spain to film this as it is a country that has immense about of culture that
relate closely to animals such as bullfighting. I would also like to try and aim to persuade
people how the care of animals in our modern society is not enough by showing them
images of animals who are suffering by our hand.
Description of your intentions:
I firstly want to create an opening sequence for my documentary that contains a catchy
song with the narrator introducing the subject and issue of the documentary. During this
opening, I would like to add footage I will shoot in my trip to Wales, Beacon national park.
This will highlight how the director of this documentary is passionate to make it successful
and showcases its episodes on a global platform. This will be conveyed through the
contrast of the opening shots in Wales to the shots of Spain during the middle of my
documentary.
I will also aimto shoot a whole variety of different shots and camera movements to gain
high marks on the technological side of the course. This will make my documentary look
more professional and therefore more trustworthy from my audience.
In order to create a successful l documentary I will also need to be able to research the
history and theories of documentary in order to make an efficient plan.
Target Audience:
My target audience will be audiences who are interested in nature and animals as my
subject revolves around the affects animals have on our day to day life. Therefore, the
demographics will be very vague. Additionally people who are from Spain might also be
interested in viewing my documentary as it talks about their culture.
