Early life
John was born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts.
John, who they called Jack, was the second of nine children.
Jack was sick a lot, his back hurt, and his stomach bothered him.
John and his older brother, Joe, where once having a race around their
block with their bikes. They both went opposite ways and in the end they
charged at each other head to head. Nobody stopped to slow down or turn.
They crashed into each other and Jack needed 28 stiches.
Joe was originally going to be president but then something happened.
Education
The principal called Jack a “mucker”,
someone who was always late for school
and had bad grades. Jack didn’t care
though. In fact, he made a mucker club.
Soon there where over a dozen members.
But then a rumor started that the mucker
club was going to smuggle some horse
manure onto the dance floor at a school
dance. The principal called Jack’s parents
and that was the end of the mucker club.
Jack graduated and went to Harvard
University where he studied political
science. He also played football and
competed on the swim team.
Career in the Navy
J.F.K was in the navy. He was the leader of a ship
called the PT-109, or patrol torpedo-109. His
crew’s job was to find and sink any battleship
with their torpedoes. Once his ship got split in
half by a Japanese destroyer and the ship
exploded. Two of Jack’s men died and the rest
had to swim to an island 3 miles away. One
person was badly hurt, so Jack took the strap
from his life jacket and put it between his teeth
and swam towing him along. During this time
John’s older brother, Joe, was shot and killed in
the war.
Early political career
Since Joe was dead, Jack’s father thought that he could
be the US president. So Jack’s father told him to run for
Congress. Jack agreed except nobody knew who Jack
was. So then Jack’s father used his money to buy a lot of
advertisements. Jack’s mother and sisters held tea
parties to introduce him to the voters, and Jack went
and gave lots of speeches. Jack won the election easily.
Later he ran for senate and became the senator. One
night at a dinner party Jack met a girl named Jacqueline
Bouvier. Jack started dating Jackie and on September
12, 1953 they got married.
Presidency
In 1956 Jack went in a vote for vice president but lost
the vote. But then Jack announced in January 1960 that
he would run for US president. He won, and one of his
first acts was to form a group called the Peace Corps.
The Peace Corps helped people in poor countries.
During his presidency the U.S.A. and the soviet union
were in a cold war which isn’t a real war. The Soviet
Union wanted to put nuclear missiles in Cuba to fire at
the US. A spy camera took a picture of a nuclear
defense bunker under construction and then John had
a plan. He surrounded Cuba with ships so supply ships
couldn’t bring in supplies. The plan worked and he
prevented a nuclear war.
Accomplishments
John was the first Roman Catholic president of the
U.S.A.
He was also the youngest president ever elected.
Jack wrote a book which got published in 1940 and it
became a best seller.
16 years later he wrote another book which won the
Pulitzer Prize.
Impact on the World
 John F. Kennedy prevented a nuclear war from
happening.
 John created the Peace Corps which helped poor cities
and towns.
 John also helped black Americans have the same rights
as white Americans.
Date and cause of death
John F. Kennedy was shot on November 22,1963 at Dallas
Texas when he was 46.
