STAFF SERGEANT (ret) Robert Griffin
Education NCO
Staff Sergeant (ret) Robert Griffin was born in Huntsville, Alabama. He joined the Army
in August of 1984 and attended OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at FT Leonard Wood,
MO to be a Motor Transport Operator. Receiving an Honorable discharge in December
of 1990. After various civilian occupations he rejoined the military through the Naval
Reserves in January of 1999. He served as a Hospital Corpsman and then attended the
8404 Combat Corpsman Course in Camp Pendleton, CA where he then continued to
serve as medical support for Marine Corp units. In July of 2002 he went into active duty
with the US Army attending basic training at Ft Knox, KY and the AIT at FT Sam
Houston, TX as a Health Care Specialist.
During his career, Staff Sergeant (ret) Griffin served as a Field Medic, Squad Leader,
Combat Life Saver Instructor, Basic Life Support Instructor (AHA), Advanced Cardiac
Life Support Instructor (AHA), NBC Decontamination Team NCOIC, and Education
NCOIC. He participated in Campaigns Liberation of Iraq, Transition of Iraq, Iraq
Governance, National Resolution, Iraqi Surge, and Iraqi Sovereignty. His additional
deployment duties included: MiTT (Military Transition Team) working with the Iraqi
2nd
Armored Regiment medical teams in training.
Staff Sergeant (ret) Griffin has been assigned to the following units: 3rd

Lifesavers Course, Medical Management of Chemical Casualties Course, Field
Sanitation Team Training Course and he has completed 90 credit hours through Kaplan
University and is pursuing a degree in business management.
