2. Abhijit Joshi is the Founding Partner of Veritas Legal.
He was the senior partner and chief executive officer (CEO) at AZB & Partners until
November 2104.
He has been involved in some of the major landmark deals, such as the Rs 5,150 crore
Tech Mahindra - Satyam Computer Services merger, Usd 2.6 billion Tata -Docomo
transaction among many others
Mr Abhijit Joshi started his journey with merely 15 lawyers at AZB which has now
grown into an organization that has over 200 lawyers.
He is an advocate, solicitor and solicitor England and Wales having completing his
articles under Amarchand Mangaldas managing partner Cyril Shroff in the early
nineties.
3. Joshi specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, cross-border investments
(inbound and outbound), private equity investments and corporate restructuring
including mergers, demergers and spin-offs.
With over 20 years of practice, Joshi has held several leadership positions –most
recently as CEO of AZB.
He says of the firm: “As its first partner and later as its CEO and senior partner, it has
been invaluable for me and I move on with valued relationships and rich experience
gained during my 14 years.”
Joshi is a Mumbai University graduate who became a Bombay Incorporate Law Society
solicitor, completing his articles under Amarchand Mangaldas managing partner Cyril
in the early nineties.
4. He also became a qualified Solicitor of England & Wales.
From Amarchand, he joined Dua Associates and as a partner in 2001 he joined the
Chambers of Zia Mody, as it was then called, as its first lateral partner when Mody’s
chambers converted to a partnership of four.
AZB name partner Bahram Vakil joined shortly afterwards, creating CZB, followed by
now-J Sagar Associates (JSA) partner Akshay Chudasama, and a merger with Delhi-
based Ajay Bahl in 2004 to create AZB & Partners.
