 King Rama IV had a gift of a model railway form Queen Victoria in 1855
 The first railway name was Paknam Railway and 20 km
 In 1890, Royal State Railways of Siam (RSR)
 Bangkok to Ayutthaya railway and its 71 km long
 On July 1951 they changed the name to State Railway of Thailand (SRT).
