Romania is known for three classic dishes: cabbage rolls called "Sarmale" which consist of ground meat and rice rolled in cabbage leaves and served with quark cheese; tripe soup called "Ciorba de burta" made with tripe, vegetables, and beef in a sour cream or garlic sauce; and fried dough with sweet cheese called "Placinta cu branza dulce" which is a filled and sugared pastry dessert.

Romania has got very delicious and tasty food, but here there are three clasic ones: Cabagge rolls (called
“Sarmale” in Romanian), Tripe soup (called “Ciorba de burta”) and finally, Fried dough with sweet cheese (called
“Placinta cu branza dulce”).
1. The first plate, Cabagge rolls, consist of ground meat mixed with rice and some other ingredients and rolled into
cabagge leaves. The cabagge rolls are usually eaten with quark cheese.
2. There are two common and traditional recipes of tripe soup in Romania; one of them is made with sour cream,
and the other one is served with garlic sauce and vinegar. Besides tripe, this soup contains carrots, turnip
cabbage, celery roots and beef hocks.
3. Fried dough with sweet cheese is an ancient traditional food in Romania. This delicious dessert is usually filled
with sweet cheese and it is sprinkled with powdered sugar.
