- Thank you for having me I hope to give you a snapshot today of how the redevelopment of the search directory if progressing Quick overview of our database system, Association Online, so you can see what it does for us and how it makes life a lot easier
- Single database that allows us to Record and manage memberships and accreditations Organise all of our events Manages our commuications Updates and edits our website Processes all invoices/orders received All modules are interconnected eg. A member can receive marketing concerning an event, register for the event on the website, receive a discount based on their membership, and process their payment Member has one profile that will house all data concerning each module One record One place to find a members information
- One person can be allocated many roles, including membership, accreditation, committee positions, awards etc. This enables us to segment for communications, track registrations, allow access to different areas of the website, discount event registrations, historical information, analyse data Incredible complex system
- System allows full customization of individual sections, like memberships and events We can not only set the price, but also allocate discounts based on different membership types We can also customise a range of different emails functioning of different engagements by the member eg. Registering for an event, cancelling a registration etc. Make events only accessible to certain groups of members Automatically allocate CPD Automatically creates name tags, attendance lists
- System also manages our communications through: Scheduling communications Segmenting communications Tracking open rate, click through rate, bounce rate Managing mailing lists Checking individuals opens, click and downloads
- Google Analytics track everything with website, on every page Our system is connected to Google Analytics and give us a snapshot on visits, page views, Overview of the how they reached our website, More in depth listing of exact methods they have used to reach us, the keywords they are using Apply this information to improve our website, search optimization on Google
- Another area of our system is the search directory, and one of the tasks I have been delegated is the redevelopment of our current one There are 5 phases in the project, of which we have completed the first three
- Ellie gave me a wonderful analogy on how our current directory works, and how we want our redeveloped directory to work in the future, which lead to the project brief Searching for shoes on a website - Our current directory only allows you to search for shoes, new directory will allow us to search by size, colour, price Brief included being able to Search confidently for a current member who holds an accreditation linked to the practice area I want Make a user centred experience where user easily selects a few key criteria, and all processing and filtering is completed behind the scenes to present accredited practitioners suited to them Database integration was key to project brief as it collated all members into one funnel Design required consultation on what were the key criteria, and what options represent all of our members. How do we make a search as easy as possible? This lead into designing and planning development that would achieve our goals
- These are the last phases that need to be completed, with development currently underway. Will explain development in more detail in next slide Directory to be launched before membership renewal

- How a user will find a dispute resolver 5 core questions to help users to find a current accredited member with expertise in the subject in dispute, based in their location Additional information gathered will allow our nominations team to further select the best member for matters User centred design, so the experience is easy educational gives the user what they are looking for
- Example of the material we have had to prepare to map out the design and development of the new directories. This document maps questions that the user will be seeing how they will look, Links these questions to the data inputted by each member. I hope this has been informative and gives you an idea of the complexity of our system and the amount of work and time that has been invested to deliver a directory that will achieve our goals
