26 25 個破壞牙齒的日常生活習慣
牙齒的琺瑯質是身體最堅硬的地方,
但也因此很容易疏忽它們的健康。
為了讓你的牙齒能跟著你久一點時日,
請儘量不要做以下 25 件事。
1. 咬冰塊
冰塊是天然且無糖份,
所以你可能會覺得它是無害的。
但是咀嚼堅硬且冰凍的冰塊
會讓你的牙齒產生碎裂甚至缝隙。
如果你的無意識地咬食刺激了牙齒內部的軟組織,
經常牙痛可能隨之而來。
熱的食物和生冷食物可能引發
迅速、鋒利的刺疼或一個揮之不去的牙痛。
下次你有咬冰塊的衝動時,
試著嚼無糖口香糖來代替。
2. 運動時沒戴保護牙齒的運動牙套
無論你是踢足球、玩曲棍球,還是進行其他
身體接觸類的體育運動,都一定要戴護口器。
美國牙科學會 (Academy of General Dentistry, AGD)
建議許多運動員應該使用護齒。
「不管是任何時候,運動員有很多的機會與其他選手或
堅硬的表面接觸,因此帶著護齒是明智的選擇。
參與籃球、軟式棒球、美式足球、摔角、足球、
曲棍球、武術以及如滑板、騎腳踏車的休閒活動等的選手
都應該在比賽的時候帶上護齒。」
護口器由塑料塑模而成,
用來保護上排牙齒。
如果運動時不戴護口器,當運動激烈時,
你的牙齒可能會碎裂甚至被打掉。
你可以去店裏買,也可以找牙醫定制。
3. 睡前使用奶瓶
保護牙齒要儘早。
在睡前給嬰兒喝奶牛、果汁會損壞新生的牙齒。
嬰兒可能會養成睡前用奶瓶的習慣,
使牙齒整晚都受到糖的侵蝕,最好改掉。
另外,嬰幼兒只要開始長牙,就應該刷牙。
4. 舌頭打洞
舌頭打洞看似時髦,
但舌頭上的金屬釘卻會傷害牙齒。
嘴唇打洞也會造成相似的危害。
當金屬釘碰到牙齦時,會損壞牙齦,
並且可能導致牙齒松落。
口腔是細菌的避風港,打洞會增大感染、疼痛的機率。
打洞前至少應該先跟牙醫瞭解一下可能面臨的風險。
5. 磨牙
有些人在提重物、感受到壓力或是無聊時,
不自覺地咬牙切齒或是磨牙,
也有些人在睡著的時候會如此。
磨牙 (bruxism) 是屬於下意識的行為,多在睡眠中出現
,
因此嚴格說起來,磨牙也可算是一種睡眠障礙。
廣義來說,不僅睡眠當中會發生磨牙,
在白天也可能不自主的出現磨牙,
因此又分成白天及夜間磨牙兩種。
夜間磨牙 (sleep bruxism) 指在睡眠中,
特別在睡眠第二期,重覆的磨動牙齒,
產生令人不舒服的聲音,
而干擾到枕邊人或室友的睡眠。
磨牙 (teeth grinding) 的特徵動作為
間歇性出現下顎肌肉等張性的收縮,
併伴有規律性咀嚼似的動作。在孩童或年輕人常見。
磨牙或夜磨牙症會使牙齒日漸磨損。
磨牙原因與壓力過大和睡覺習慣有關,
這使得磨牙的習慣很難控制。
牙齒咬緊牙齒可能會使它們磨損,
而且還會讓你看起來老了 10 ~ 20 歲。
除了壓力與骨折外,
磨掉最外層的琺瑯質露出牙本質,
這很容易導致蛀牙的發生。
在白天避免食用堅硬的食物
會減少牙齒損壞和疼痛的風險,
夜間戴護口器可以幫助防止夜磨牙症的損害。
6. 止咳糖漿
止咳糖漿通常含糖,
當你使用止咳糖漿舒緩喉嚨後一定要好好刷牙。
有些非處方的感冒糖漿中的抗組織胺可能導致口乾,
由於唾液能保護牙齒,
因此口腔中唾液太少會導致蛀牙。
無論是來自於止咳糖漿的糖還是硬糖的糖,
都會與頑固的牙菌斑發生化學反應,
包圍你的牙齒,
然後牙菌斑的細菌會將糖轉化成酸侵蝕牙齒導致蛀牙。
7. 軟糖
任何含糖的食物都會加速牙齒腐壞,
但是某些糖果的影響尤為嚴重。
橡皮糖會粘在牙齒上,
幾小時內持續讓糖轉化成酸來侵蝕牙齒。
如果你離不開軟糖,
那就在就餐的時候吃一點,
不要當做零食來吃。
在進餐的時候,空腔會分泌更多的唾液,
可以幫助清除牙齒上的糖果,減少牙酸。
8. 碳酸飲料
一人量的蘇打水就多達 11 茶勺的糖,
更可怕的是,
蘇打水還包含侵蝕牙齒的磷酸和檸檬酸。
日常的軟飲可以讓你擺脫糖果,
但其中人造甜味劑的果酸
可能會更容易損壞你的牙齒。
9. 用牙齒咬開東西
用牙齒開瓶蓋和塑料袋很方便,
但這個習慣卻讓牙醫苦惱。
將牙齒當做工具會讓牙齒碎裂。
10. 運動飲料
運動過後喝一杯涼爽的運動飲料讓人神清氣爽。
但這類飲料卻有很高的含糖量。

經常飲用這類飲料會導致蛀牙。
運動後補充身體水分最好的方法
就是飲用不含糖也不含卡路里的白開水。
11. 果汁
果汁含有豐富的維他命並且可以抗氧化,
但不幸的是果汁的含糖量卻很高。
某些果汁的含糖量與蘇打水的含糖量相近。
例如,橙汁與橙味蘇打相比,蘇打只比橙汁多 10g 糖。
水果的甜味是天然存在的,
人們便用果汁來代替添加糖的飲料。
可以通過用水稀釋來減少果汁中的含糖量。
12. 馬鈴薯片
牙斑菌是可以將澱粉轉化成牙酸的,

如果食物在牙齒上停留的時間更長,

如果你真的想嚼些東西還是選擇無糖口香糖吧
。
它可以促進口腔中的唾液流動,
使牙齒更強健還能防止侵蝕牙齒的牙酸。
15. 喝咖啡
咖啡顏色很深並且是酸性的,
隨著時間推移會讓牙齒變黃。
但好在現在有各種美白牙齒的手段,
而咖啡造成的牙齒變黃是最容易解決的一種牙齒變色。
16. 抽菸
煙漬讓牙齒更容易被細菌影響。
抽煙也是牙周病、牙齦炎以及骨疾病的危險因子。
煙草還能造成嘴唇、舌頭、口腔癌症。
煙阻礙牙齦組織維持健康,與對抗某些致病菌的能力。
六十歲以上帶假牙的人當中有一半以上是癮君子。
如果你還想找一個理由再戒煙,
那想想你的笑容吧。
17. 喝紅葡萄酒
紅酒中的酸會腐蝕牙齒,
在牙齒表面造成斑點使牙齒更容易變色。
紅酒中還含有一種很深的天然色素以及單寧酸,
使牙齒更易染色。
即使你在喝光杯中紅酒很久以後,
這兩種物質的組合也會使紅酒的顏色一直在留在牙齒上。
18. 喝白葡萄酒
你可能覺得喝白葡萄酒對牙齒沒傷害,
但其中的酸也會侵蝕牙齒,使牙齒表面產生小孔,
更加容易從其他飲料 ( 例如咖啡 ) 上染色。
喝過紅酒和白葡萄酒後,
可以用牙刷沾一點溫和的增白劑來刷牙,
然後漱口來防止牙齒染色。
19. 暴飲暴食
暴飲暴食通常都會攝入過多的糖,會引起蛀牙。
暴食後嘔吐 ( 神經性厭食症 ) 會更加影響牙齒健康。
嘔吐物中含有很強烈的酸性會侵蝕牙齒,
使牙齒更脆弱,酸性還會使空腔產生口氣。
神經性厭食症會導致一系列嚴重的健康問題,

20. 長期使用避孕藥
口服避孕藥改變女性的荷爾蒙平衡,
並可能導致慢性牙周病。
一旦她們停藥,藥物帶來的損害通常會停止。
21. 藥物濫用
甲基安非他命 (crystal methamphetamine) 是非法
且非常容易上癮的毒品,會為你的口腔帶來嚴重的浩劫。
使用者通常會很渴望含糖的食物與飲料、咬緊牙關
而且有口乾的情形,而這些都是容易導致蛀牙的因素。
22. 常喝瓶裝水
大多瓶裝水的氟化物含量很少或沒有,
而大多家中的過濾系統會過濾掉大部分的氟化物。
飲用添加氟的自來水是
預防與對抗蛀牙最符合成本效益的方法。
23. 經常牙齒美白
長期牙齒美白,若沒有好好遵循醫師囑咐,
可能會導致牙齦不適,而且會增加牙齒敏感性。
抗敏感牙膏可能對此有幫助。
如果你有敏感性牙齒、牙齦炎或琺瑯質受損,
你的牙醫師可能不會建議你進行牙齒美白。
24. 不要每餐後馬上就刷牙
當你吃完東西之後,口腔的環境會變酸,
這時琺瑯質會軟化,
而此時如果太勤於刷牙就很容易把琺瑯質給磨掉。
飯後務必等待 30 ~ 60 分鐘後才刷牙,
這段期間酸會隨著時間中和掉,牙齒就能再度礦化。
經常刷牙、刷太用力或是使用硬刷毛的牙刷,
也可能侵蝕你的琺瑯質。
請溫柔地刷牙,並使用軟毛牙刷吧。
每當你吃完飯後,你需要刷牙並且用牙線清潔你的口腔。
食物與牙齒和牙齦接觸的時間越久越容易發生問題。
25. 忽略檢查
牙醫師建議每六個月檢查一次,
不過大多病患並沒有遵守。
這段時間會讓牙菌斑形成牙垢,
更多的牙菌斑會附著在其表面上,
並讓牙菌斑更深入牙齦。這會弱化牙齒的支撐結構。
越早發現問題,就越容易解決問題,
而且花費也會少很多。

Bottom line, discuss the health risks with your dentist first.
