Actuators Figure 1. Teletilt® ATC200-1000/LITE Series Control Systems With Factory Installed ATM200-001 Actuators. It is recommended that
transmit power be turned off when the field retrofit is performed. Follow all applicable safety precautions as shown below. Do not use the
actuator or its protective shroud as a lifting device for an antenna. Doing so is likely to damage the actuator and the coupling attachment on
the antenna. (continued on page 2) Do not install near power lines. Power lines, telephone lines, and guy wires look the same. Assume any
wire or line can electrocute you. Do not install on a wet or windy day or when lightning or thunder is in the area. Do not use metal ladder.
Wear shoes with rubber soles and heels. Wear protective clothing including a longsleeved shirt and rubber gloves. _x000C_Antennas With
Factory Installed Teletilt® ATM200-001 Actuators (Continued from page 1) GENERAL INFORMATION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS These
instructions refer to specific antennas with factoryinstalled ATM200-001 Teletilt® actuators. The actuator is factory fitted and pretested to
operate within the electrical tilt range of the antenna. Refer to Figure 1 and Table 1 for ATC200 system configuration and components used
with these antennas. Part No. Description Actuators Motor drive mechanism; attaches to the antenna. 1. Remove the antenna from the
shipping box, leaving the foam block around the lower end of the antenna. Remove the cardboard from around the foam block (Figure 2). 2.
Slide the foam block off of the bottom of the antenna to perform recommended testing on the actuator while the antenna is on the ground.
Leave the protective shroud around the actuator (Figure 3). 3. It is recommended that the actuator be connected to the controller and tested
ON THE GROUND before the antenna is installed on the tower. Features/Comments ATM200-001 *ATC200-1000-00xx Antenna Control Unit

chained. Each type provides one input port to connect to the controller or another junction box. ATS-A01-002 Two-Way Splitter Enables
daisy-chaining actuators on single band antennas. ATS-B01-003 Three-Way Splitter Enables daisy-chaining actuators on quad-port antennas.

Lightning Protection Device Recommended for use when an ATC200-1000 series controller is permanently installed at the site. To ensure that
the actuator has been properly deployed, various set-tilt commands should be carried out at this stage. The motion of the actuator should be
unrestricted between its minimum and maximum downtilt positions. Compare the visual reading of downtilts through the viewing window in
the clear bushing on the antenna with the readings shown on the PC. PC or Laptop User supplied. Routes remote control dialog between

3 of 4 After the actuator has been tested and determined to operate satisfactorily, attach the mounting brackets to the back of the antenna.
It may be necessary to position the lower mounting bracket to lay flat against the back of the antenna, so that the foam block can be placed
back onto the bottom of the antenna before the antenna is lifted to the tower. 5. The foam block may interfere with installation of the lower
bracket to the tower. If possible, leave the foam block on the antenna until the antenna is securely mounted to the tower. NOTE: SHROUD IS
NOT A LIFTING POINT. Actuator Figure 3. Actuator With Protective Shroud. Slide the foam block back onto the bottom of the antenna,
pressing it forward to secure the protective shroud surrounding the actuator. Keep the foam block in place while lifting the antenna to the
tower and during installation. 6. Protective Shroud 7. Male Female Figure 4. Control Cable Connectors. The connectors on the control
cables are gender specific. The female end of the cable connects to the actuator (Figure 5) and the male end connects to the junction
box/splitter (Figures 6 through 7) or antenna controller unit also known as the ACU (Figures 8 and 9). The junction box/splitter feeds directly
to the controller or to another junction box/splitter, allowing up to 32 actuators to be operated by one controller. Male Input Port Figure 5.

The female end of the control cable will be directed upward. The male end of the control cable running from the first actuator to the junction
box or the ACU will be directed downward after installation. Female Output Ports The control cable connectors are keyed to provide a
matching fit with the ports on the actuator and the controller. While threading the connectors onto the actuator, junction box/splitter, or
ACU, turn the connector clockwise until hand tight. The actuator and control cables are weather resistant and do not require
weatherproofing. Male Input Port Figure 6. Junction Box Ports. Female Output Port Andrew Corporation Bulletin 639509 • Revision B •
February 2005 • Page 4 of 4 8. Secure the control cable to the tower structure, using cable ties, hangers, or similar fasteners as shown in
Figure 1 (Andrew 40417 cable ties or 68MCLICK hangers). The main cables should be secured at 2m intervals and at 1m from either end. The
cables feeding to the actuators should be secured every 0.5 m, to avoid excessive wind vibration. 9. Male Input Port It is recommended that
the control cable be grounded at the tower base, top, and at 60m intervals. For cable grounding, use Andrew 602299 grounding kit (see
Bulletin 639084). ATS-A01-002 2-Way Splitter ATS-B01-003 3-Way Splitter Male Input Port Female Output Ports 10. Since generally the ACU
is installed permanently at a site, use of a lightning protection unit is recommended. Note that lightning protection units and junction boxes
used with either ATC200 system must be grounded (see Bulletin 639098 and 639099). Figure 7. Splitters. 11. The ACU is usually rack mounted
in an equipment cabin. This unit must be located indoors or in a weatherproof enclosure when placed outdoors. Female Output Port Figure 8.

ATC200-1000-00xx RET system; and, refer to bulletins 639510 and 639512 when using the ATC200LITE-00xx RET system. 13. It is recommended
that the actuator be checked at this point, to ensure that it moves on command without restriction. NOTICE The installation, maintenance, or
removal of an antenna requires qualified, experienced personnel. Andrew installation instructions are written for such installation personnel.
Antenna systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance, and
