ACHIEVEMENTS
Gained solid understanding of Computational fluid Dynamics (CFD) in semester’s time frame
Optimized motorcycle stand mass using ANSYS Mechanical by 5%, results were showcased to
ANSYS representatives and SJSU faculty.
Detected and monitored bonfire for 30 minutes by designing and building unmanned Aerial Vehicle
(UAV) payload by selecting appropriate sensors required for task
EXPERIENCE
Adv. Finite Element Analysis-Wheel FEA Contact Analysis (Spring 2016)
San Jose State University
Nonlinear contact analysis was conducted using ANSYS Mechanical in order to determine stresses
and deformations experienced by car wheel due to contact with hard surface
Standard automobile rim and concrete bump block were modeled using SolidWorks. Geometry was
then imported to ANSYS as IGES file to perform Contact Analysis
Different materials and angular velocities were analyzed which results demonstrated to be in good
agreement with expected outcomes based on theoretical calculations
Computational Fluid Dynamics – Airfoil Project (Spring 2016)
San Jose State University
Performed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis using ANSYS Fluent on NACA 0012 2D
airfoil design at various Reynolds numbers
Purpose was to find optimal lift force by optimizing angle of attack
Comparison between obtained CFD analysis results against NASA experimental data results was
conducted which concluded in 95% results similarity
Capstone Design - Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Project (Fall 2013)
University of California, Merced
Collaborated with team of four senior Mechanical Engineering students to design, built and validate
inexpensive payload that would detect, locate, and monitor forest fires with high degree of certainty
and reliability
Student led project which involved presenting project progress multiple times to academic and
industry advisors in order to demonstrate research and achievements accomplished
UAV payload was tested on man-made bonfire, developed system was able to detect fire within 1
minute and then was able to monitor for 30 minutes.
