6. A Tribute to Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam, whose leadership Quality if
imbibed can create the World's most wonderful Organisation.
1. Leaders are humble themself- Dr.Abdul Kalam's accession
to power and position was just occasions to further humble
himself as much possible as he can, so that the people who
met him can feel stronger and taller in their heart and life.
2. Leaders are trulyVisionary-Dr.Kalam strongly believed
that future India’s success rest over PURA(Providing Urban
Amenities in Rural Areas). And, that is the way forward, to
create a developed India. He is truly a visionary.
7. 3. Leaders are Perseverance- Even as a child, he would begin
his day at 4 am – with a mathematics class, Kalam’s town
having no electricity, kerosene lamps would be used in the
evening/night.This hardly deterred the young Kalam who
would study till 11 pm, long after everyone else in his family
had gone to bed).He took initiative and had the thirst of
knowledge.
4.Take responsibility-During one of the test flights, for an
underdevelopment aircraft surveillance system, a plane crash
killed the entire crew of 8 men. That day Dr. Kalam felt the
weight of being responsible for someone else. Leading teams
can be challenging. Much more challenging can be sharing
success and taking responsibility for failure.
“Don’t pretend to be a candle, be a moth. Know the power
hidden in serving.”
8. 5.Think differently-Kalam never believed in doing a run-of-
the-mill job and encouraged others to do things differently,
especially the younger generation.
“My message, especially to young people is
to have courage to think differently,
courage to invent, to travel the unexplored
path, courage to discover the impossible
and to conquer the problems and succeed.
These are great qualities that they must
work towards”.
